What are your favorite brands, suppliers? I've got two recipes that call for these ingredients and I'm stymied as to which ones to buy. All suggestions welcome :D
Okay, I'm fessin' up - after a slip into some SAD food yesterday (samosas) -if I ever express a CRAVE like that again, remind me how yucky it feels to go UNRAW. I believe what caused me to cave was the need for some variety. Therefore, I'm going to venture beyond my simple fruits and vegetable prep. With a wealth of "raw-cipes" to try, I'm going to need some additional ingredients in the kitchen.
Okay. No more self-admonishing. I'm back on the RAW wagon and glad to be here.

Hi, try Jicama. It's looks like a big yellow onion on the outside. The inside is like raw potato without the starch. It can be marinated with any kind of marinate and it's great in rolls, or eating on the side like "french fries." Peel it and cut it up in strips or wedges and marinate for a few hours.
I tried a weird pate recipe I made up from sprouted almonds, one avocado, half a clove of garlic, some olive oil, two Roma tomatoes, salt and pepper. It tasted delicious. Sometimes you can make new recipes by experimenting with what you have, and it gets easier and better with time.

First you need to begin to "study" the different techniques of raw food uncooking and go recipe hunting! I don't get bored of salads usually because I have been collecting recipes forever and I have a ton. Other types of meals you can have are noodles, soups, smoothies, veggies or fruits with dip, wraps, pates and countless dehydrated goods.
Good sites for recipes are:

If you can get some books by all means buy a couple. Buy Alissa's first and not just because this is her site. It is the most inspirational and has a ton of wonderful recipes! Sometimes you can find a couple at your local library. Stay on the raw path, we are here to support you.

Bowie, great idea.
I didn't even think to check Alissa's inventory - thanks for the reminder!
