my name is taylor snipes. i am 18 years old and i live in vero beach, fl. i have the largest appetite of anyone in my family, and now i am 2 weeks raw. i am the guy who ate anything tasty that was put in front of me even if i was stuffed. i am somewhat of a chef, and my food loving family always enjoyed going out to eat with me because i have never really met a food i didnt like. i was not overweight. i weighed somthin like 153 which was a little too much fat on my stomach and chest, but nothing serious. i have been sober since jan 1 2007, and all this consciousness of my health enabled me to embrace the raw food way of life. i was previously, for the most part, on the clean eating diet (tosca reno) which i felt good doing, but as i have discovered, eating cooked food stirs cravings for more cooked food, and in turn junk food. the raw way of life has changed me in positive ways i never thought possible. my sister in law had this book and i asked her to borrow it. i was totally blown away the night i read it and have been basically 100 % raw since the morning after (thurs, march 1) my bad acne is going away, i have more energy than ever (except for today cuz i am sick. i think i am detoxing), and i have lost nearly all my belly fat. i weigh somthin like 143 now. its time to start packin on some muscle. whenever i have cravings or second thoughts i just read some blog stuff or alissa's book (i want to get some more raw books). i really enjoy some of the stuff like the corn chowder (wonderful) but i am realizing that nuts arent really for me. i have decided i am not gonna get a dehydrator, and instead i am gonna get that expensive juicer on alisssa's website. also my blender just broke so you know what that means. i am a dedicated passionate surfer and hippie and this way of life fits in perfectly with how i want to live. i have already decided since i started eating this way that i want to become a nutritionist or a practicer of holistic medicine of some sort. definitely not the most lucrative career, but i have realized that it is the most fulfilling. raw food has changed my life. peace
