I'm just wondering for the people who work like crazy, how they go raw?? obviously, during my weekends home, I can make the majority of my meals and such. However, my job requires me to take out executives to dinner at least 2 or 3 times a week and I'm sick of ordering salads...any thoughts on what else I can order?

Wow - that's a stumper. I thought maybe fruit instead of the salad? I don't know. I'll have to think about that.

If you are frequenting the same restaurants 2 or 3 times a week and bringing them regular business, I'm sure they'd love to help you out. I would ask to speak with one of the chefs and have a chat with them about your needs. A lot of times they have stuff back there that can vary your salads and maybe make you up a beautiful fruit plate sometimes. They probably have things like raw sunflower seeds, dark raisins, other nuts, etc, that can add a bit of excitement to your veggie salads. :) I would really talk to them about what they might be able to come up with for you. Chefs love a challenge. They get tired of making the same dishes from the same menu every day...

I have two jobs and no one i go to dinner w/ is raw. A lot of times i eat a small snack before i go with them. This way i am not starving and i can just get a small appetizer, and that way your clients wont wonder why you are not eating or always just eating a salad. Most restaurants have some sort of caprese salad(no cheese of course), cucumber salad etcetc to order besides just a salad. I just ask for whatever I am ordering to have any condiments on the side and that usually works for me. I work in a restaurant besides my reg. job and i always tell the server ahead of time i might have a lot of questions about the menu, believe me they will appreciate it. Just watch out for any marinated veggies they cant change and might forget to tell you about. I think i rambled and i dunno if that helped...

It is a lot easier and cheaper than going through chemotherapy when you have cancer from eating SAD or going through dialysis when you have kidney disease from SAD.:D

Whoa. Moonstone, I'm all for keepin' it real, but sometimes your comments can be overly blunt. Deep breath.

It can be hard. I'm very fortunate. In my building we have a cafeteria with a big salad and fruit bar - so that works for me. Just take it one day at a time. And I fully agree with the fact that your local restaurants will work with you. Even here in the city, I've found that, rather than being put off by my requests, folks become curious and helpful.

Best of luck!

This board tries to be all peaches and cream. You have to play by the rules or you are outlawed.

I tell it like it is. overly blunt. okay. I'll take that. Like a big girl. Some people can't. But they need to hear it.

The OP that I called dramatic was IMHO.
