Since I'm about to move in just a couple of weeks I've started to pack all my stuff away including everything in the kitchen. I won't have access to them once we've moved either SO I need basic simple easy but GOOD recipes that doesn't require a blender, food processor, juicer or dehydrator :)

How's that for a challenge? :P

Thanks in advance!

Mango and black grapes sound delicious! I wouldn't have thought of that combination.

I love tomatoes, avocado, raw black olives, and a little onion chopped up together. Sometimes I add a cucumber to that, too.

I'll have to try that Allison, thanks! Does raw olives taste any different than cooked ones? And where can I find raw olives?

I got the Greek olives from rawfood.com. They tasted pretty much the same to me...delicious!

Alissa's Corm Chowder is very easy and wonderful. I am eating it right now for breakfast.

Last night I rolled up some cukes, tomatoes, avacado and olives in a kale leaf. Well, actually, I had two. <g>

You could add shredded carrot and or jicama also.

Injoy,

When I want something really quick and easy, I put almond butter on a sliced banana, sprinkle some coconut or date pieces on it. Yummy and filling!

Is there no way to take the blender with you? Fruit smoothies, green smoothies, soups (including corn chowder) are all easy to make and quick to clean up after with a blender.

Thank you guys for all the ideas!

We will be getting a new blender once we've settled. We will put all our stuff in storage so we will only have one backpack each .... have to do some serioius thinking on what to bring and not :S But... once we've settled we will get the most important stuff :)

Yeah, they both needed to be eaten and I was out of bananas  so I threw them together and it was really good.

One of my favorite combinations is
pineapple, blackberries, raspberries, and orange/tangerine,
I just chop them up and eat them, I also add some orange juice to this, and let it sit, the blackberries make everything dark purple and all the dark purple fruit is fun for the grandkids, it also tastes delicious, kind of like a fruit soup, or something.

I also make a greek salad thiny, sliced tomatoes, white onion, green pepper, greek olives (pitted) and a little olive oil to drizzle and some lemon juice, you won't miss the feta cheese at all, if you have any hot peppers, add that too, as I used to use pepperccinies(but they aren't raw) so you have to add cayenne, or some jalepeno to make it bit just right.

I also like to take a date, pit it and pop an almond into it, eat it, yummy.

Mix in a bowl, raisins, almonds (soaked) and shredded or chopped coconut, eat as a snack with fingers, or as a cereal with no milk.

I also like chopped tomatoes, chopped white onion, chopped basil, chopped avocado, a drizzel of olive oil and a sprinkle of celtic sea salt, yummy salad.

One of my favorites is sliced banana, chunked pineapple, and pieces of orange, put them together in a bowl, and enjoy, you can add shredded coconut too, it is delightful.

A great sandwich, is any green leaf, collard, cabbage, lettuce, and place inside it, avocado, with a little lemon juice on it, a sprinkle of celtic sea salt, some chopped greek olives, and some chopped tomatoe, yummy, you can add almond butter if you have some.

Another good sandwich is green leaf (as above) long thin slices of carrot, cellery, zucchini, onion, red pepper, and then you take avocado and smash it up with Celtic sea salt, lemon juice and taco seasoning, (to taste) then spread it over the veggies, roll this all up and enjoy.

Hope some of these sound good to you.

good luck on your blender-less quest.

Twinkies, as I call them:

slice a banana lenghtwise while still in the skin and fill it up with almond butter. Then peel and EAT!

Or: Baklava (from Bryan Au's Raw in Ten Minutes www.rawinten.com)

use a mandoline to slice very thin sections of apple not crosswise but lengthwise - 1/8 in or thinner. That's your 'pastry'. For the filling: 1 cup of any nut, ground up fine (or combo) plus 2 T agave Nectar or honey. Mash up real well, and put between 2 of your slices. drizzle extra nectar/honey on tup. YUM!

That sounds like a raw ambrosia. Sounds delish! :D

I just tried this Cauliflower salad today (from Valya and Sergei's book) an it's very simple and good. The recipe is as follows: 1 head cauliflower, 1/4c olive oil, 1/4c lemon juice, 1 bunch green onions, 1 bunch cilantro, and salt. Chop veggies and mix with oil & juice. My modifications: I didn't have cilantro and I halved the oil, since I'm not an oil fanatic.

I remembered another delicious recipe from Paul Nissan's class I took last year,

Portobello mushroom pizza (that's what he calls it)

Take one portabello mushroon, and take out the stem, put it on it's back on a plate, and pour 1 T or lemon juice into the spines, top this with about 2 to 3 T of almond butter, and top with sliced tomatoe and you have pizza,

I have added a slice or two of avocado, adn a dash of celtic sea salt. It is very tasty, and filling.
