I still cook SAD for my BF, his son, and his son's girlfriend (who both of them have JUUUUST moved in with us recently, a week ago!). I've been cooking every night for them and they will always compliment my dishes.
Last night, as we were at the dinner table...his son opened the fridge to get something and he saw my blender full of green smoothie. He asked about it because it didn't look quite "fruity" (green specks from the spinach I added). I told him that's how I make smoothies now...I add spinach and sprouts. He's made fun of my sprouts before ("have you ever tasted grass?!?!").

Then I asked him:

"Remember on your first day of school I made smoothies for all of us?"

"Yeeaaaaaah..."

"It had spinach and sprouts in it."

He smiled and said he couldn't even taste it, and that as long as he couldn't taste it, he was okay with spinach and sprouts. I was sooo proud!! :D

Maybe you can ease them in slowly into raw foods. Make smoothies for breakfast, salads at lunch, introduce a side of something raw at dinner. Before you know it it could be contagious!:)

Well, BF (Robby) has already said he wasn't giving up his beef (which is weird for him to say because I have been the one that shops for groceries and I have not bought beef in over a month--just fish and chicken for him/them and overloaded on the veggies and fruits). Of course, that's not to say he won't order a McDonald's hamburger when he's at work and I'm not around! gross!!!
The kids (both 16 and 17 years old)...well, one doesn't even eat fruits or vegetables. She (Megan) lives on a steady diet of ramen noodles for breakfast, and mac and cheese for an afterschool snack, and anything from Sonic for everything in between. The son (Blake) is very obsessed with working out and gaining weight (he's muscular but very slender) but wants to do the chicken, lean beef, and tuna route to get his protien.
After getting Alissa's book, I have highlighted and marked pages for each one of them explaining their specific situation (health problems for Megan, weight gain for Blake, and general health for Robby) and what RAW can do for them, both for short- and long-term. Each will get a photo-copy of this...
I'm carrying that book around like it's my bible now. I have tabbed, highlited, made notes...etc etc...showed the pictures to everyone...
I don't think they'll ever be 100% RAW, but if I can get them to drink a smoothie w/o them questioning me or if I can fill them up with a huge salad or RAW soup before their main course...that's a battle (not the war) I've won!! :D

They love the RAW desserts I've been making. I will try my hand at Alissa's sweet potato pie soon.
