for one reason or another, my diet has slowly tapered from raw foods, to nothing but raw smoothies for about 3 weeks (frozen berries & OJ, very seldom anything else), to nothing but veggie juice 4 days ago. this hasnt been intentional, and i suppose my diet now would be considered "juice fasting," though im not intentionally doing any of it..its just what i feel like having. the past 3 or 4 days ive had primarily green juice (lots and lots of celery juice mixed with parsley juice) with maybe a half cup or so of potato juice a day (ive read its good for the stomach) and about 1 oz of OJ for every 15 oz of green juice to cut the bitterness. also, i juiced a small bag of carrots in one of the juices earlier today to use them up before going away for spring break (but found they were too sugary for my liking and left them out of the subsequent juices). so i guess thatd be around 80 or 90% green juice for the past 4ish days. the first couple of days i probably only drank 32 oz of juice each day. yesterday i drank probably slightly more..maybe 48 oz. today i drank about 80 oz, as today was the first day i experienced any hunger. the juice easily satisfied me, though.

my question after that background is: tonight when going to brush my teeth i noticed my tongue was coated in a thickish yellowy-white...something. this has never happened to me before, and to be honest i was pretty grossed out. i brushed my teeth, scrubbed my tongue with my toothbrush, and got about 85% of it off. however, i went into the bathroom about an hour later and looked again, and it was back. this is obviously detox, but im wondering if this could be a sign of detoxing candida? my juices are all fresh-made with organic produce, and are - for the most part - veggies which are low in sugar, which leads me to believe this is detox, as opposed to a flare-up caused by too much sugar from tons of fruit juice.

has anyone had experience with this? if so..how long does this last usually? the answer probably is "it depends.." .. but ive never detoxed like this before. is this a new level of detox for me? :D  ive considered the possibilit of me having candida (the symptoms correlate with a lot of what ive gone through..including hormonal imbalance..) but ive never wanted to claim it. now maybe i wont have to because im healing? and one last question..i feel like slipping into a water fast from here. i dont know what it is..my body is just developing an aversion to solid food lately. im not trying to lose weight or anything like that. im certain its my body intuitively healing after everything its been through recently.

any ideas or opinions welcome.

We all have candida problems to overcome going on a raw diet. Some have it far worse than others, my tongue is really gross right now too, patchy and hyper sensitive. I have seen a lot of people on here post about the same thing.:( Its all part of it, it will work itself out in time. It cant continue living in a body its not welcome in :D .

By the way, you are totally right about following what your body wants to do. I am having trouble eating much for solids unless its really bland, like the plate of broccoli I ate tonight. GO WITH IT.:)

That's really typical when fasting. They say it's just your body dumping junk.

I have to agree with KatK. that happened with my last fast, and didn't clear up until well into my fourth week. They say detox has been completed when the tongue turns pink again.

Get yourself a plastic tongue scraper. Sounds harsh but it's not. I use it sometimes up to 3 times a day when I'm detoxing cuz my tongue gets all gross too.

Happened to me too while fasting. After 14 days, it was still not too appealing but not as bad as the first few days. :D I used a spoon as a tongue scraper...scraping lightly.
