I have tried two delivery services in the past month. I won't mention the first, but I got my first order today from the second, and WOW! The produce is awesome. It is very fresh, very nice, and very tasty! I like it because you can choose a basic box to start with then take away or add items as you wish. For example, I don't eat potatoes so I subtracted the potatoes and added on more bananas.
The name of the company is Pioneer Organics. Here is what I ordered and the prices, in case you want to compare what you're paying now.
3 large minneola tangerines $2.15
1 bunch of red beets with tops (these are 3 large and nice) $4.49
4 braeburn apples $3.16
1 very nice sized zuchini (2 meals) $1.79
3 danjou pears $2.67
3 granny smith apples $1.77
1 1/3 lb bag of snow peas $2.19
3 pounds of very nice bananas $3.15
1 lb of roma tomatoes $2.49
1 pint red cherry tomatoes $4.79
1 bunch nice spinach $1.59
1 bunch red chard $2.69
The toal was $32.97 and that includes delivery
I'm really happy. The other company was good, but this produce is in much better condition and larger, and is organic. We'll see how they do over the weeks. You can order weekly, twice a month, monthly, however you like. They have other grocery items also.
Please, if you decide to give them a try, give me as a reference and I will get $21 credit toward my next box. My order is under D. Carvalho on 47th Avenue.
A person might be able to buy this cheaper, but for me, having it delivered saves me the time and gas going to the store. Plus, now I"ll just plan my week's meals around this order. I'll probably buy a pineapple and a bag of frozen berries, and I'm set!
SU-WEET!:D
