View Full Version : greenstar juicer squealing
anyone have this issue- i never noticed it before now...
when i run the first few things through my green star juicer- it's fine.
but soon it starts to squeal- like this constant whine and instead of juice, i get foam. i guess the gears aren't working properly- fiber doesn't really come out either- so maybe it the gears just get overloaded and not emptying- er... anyway. green foam is no good!
so, new gears or new juicer?

I have the Green Life, which really is the Green Star (they have to use different names in different countries from what I understand). Anyway, mine squeals all the time. My juice however isn't foamy. I mean, there's always a tiny bit of foam on top but nothing major. What screen are you using? The larger holed fruit one or the fine holed vegetable one? Also, with the turn screw on the end do you have it turned all the way in or part way out? Lastly, what are you trying to juice? Leafy stuff? Hard veggies?
well, for this juice i used the larger hole screen, i had the screw all the way in and played with that too- still foam. hmm maybe it is what i'm juicing--
apples, kiwi, kale, dandelion leaves... any suggestions? squeeeal. :)

Hmmm. Use a blender instead? :D
I typically never do fruit through my juicer as I like to retain the fiber in a blender so I'm not sure if it's the fruit that's causing all the foam. You're using the right screen (the large hole one is for fruit). And you tried messing with the screw thing. Have you done fruit with it before?
Not sure if I can really help. Like I said, mine squeals as well but my juice comes out fine. Then again, I'm only juicing veggies. Next time I go to do some fruit I'll try juicing it instead and let you know if it's all foamy.
:) thanks. i think it's my gears- didn't used to do this.
my last juice didn't release any pulp/fiber and when i
cleaned it out it was all backed up inside the screen
and gears.
still, let me know how your juicer handles with a bit of fruit.
