I hate the smell of wheatberries sprouted. I thought I was making wheatgrass juice and could still be doing that if I can get more than some green blades showing up in soil, after I sprouted first in glass jars).

I tried making a bun using just these sprouts, with agave and onion, salt for a roll and YUCK when it was done. I let it dry too long so it was a brick ready to hit someone or loose some teeth. I broke it up and called it cracker crumbs, and anything else I can fake people with.

So besides probably pizza crust, breads, crackers, maybe calzones, how else can I use the sprouted wheatberries? Smoothies? Thanks.

ive been using the hard wheat and soaking it for like 24 hours , not long enough for any growth besides maybe a short white tail . then i strain/dry to use like rice .

previously i was letting the berries grow longer and getting to a green/grassy state/taste and didnt like them . now i just see it as soaked grains , along with oat groats , and find them to be a cheap + filling staple . i put chopped up vegis like onion - greenpepper - mushroom - tomato - parsley - garlic or salsa or raw spaghetti sauce on them and its good . the oats i use like oatmeal .

Thanks Michigan. I do get tails.

I soak mine overnight, then put them in "dishwasher" as a dark place, rinse 2x day and about 5 days later, or less they are matted all together in this large jar, gallon size. I make sure I rinse them well. Now I got a batch ready to "plant" or since we have a rawluck this Sat., may use your fabulous suggestions and make a "sprout salad" with tons of these sprouts to get rid of them.
