Not sure I should bother b/c raw chocolate gives me too much stimulation, amoung other problems. But, I have a big bag of nibs and find them horrible in a smoothie (blender doesn't break them down properly) and making raw chocolate just means I end up with stuff I don't eat! Upset tummy.

But if I were to try and grind these to powder, would a food processor work? I don't have a vitamix or anything like that, just blender and food processor. I make RP raw brownies in the food processor with raw carob powder, but never tried making the powder itself.

Maybe raw cacao nibs are too fatty to make into a powder?

Thanks!

It might work. A coffee grinder works the best.

what about stone grinding with a mortor and pestle? I find it works well but I havent tried it with nibs yet.

Oh yeah a mortar and pestle would definitely work too. I forgot about that.

Thanks! My coffee grinder holds about 3/4 c. coffee beans, so it's quite small but I may give that a go. Don't have pestle, but appreciate the idea!

I asked a friend and she said she tried grinding the cacao nibs to a powder in a food processor, but they didn't grind down as fine as a powder, just were like coarse nut meal and started to adhere together (fats?) the more she ground it in the processor.
