So do you guys think a good way to start this diet would be this

Breakfast- Fruits? Bananas, apples, grapefruit
Lunch- Salad with some nuts? question Can I eat dressing?
Dinner....another salad? with some fruit veggies and more nuts?

This diet sounds so boring? Am I the only one that feels that way?
I guess I need to buy the book

Some think that cooked food is boring. Always the same thing, chicken, beef, potatoes, bread and rice, presented in different ways. The fruit and veggies added are what change the flavor, when you think about it.

There are countless varieties of plant foods and many more ways to put them together. If you eat celery and carrot sticks all day you'll surely get bored, but puree a mango and banana together for a tropical pudding and you are in for a real treat.

Yes I would suggest you buy the book (it will be a huge help to anyone just starting out). There is so much more variety than you think. I do eat a lot of salads and drink a lot of smoothies but that is because I enjoy it. There are a lot of folks here that do dehydrating of recipes and that opens up another huge variety of foods. There are also a lot of recipes that are posted on this site. I would suggest you take a few minutes and browse some of those to see if any of that food sounds good to you. It will be trial and error until you get a collection of recipes you find wonderful to you. But yah if you eat the same thing day in and day out it could get boring. I suggest you mix it up with lots of variety. As an experiment Go to a good fruit/vegtable market and see how many things are there. I gaurantee you there will be things there that you might not even know what it is. Then I suggest you try some different things. You might be surprised at how many options there really are. Best wishes to you as you research and learn about this way of eating. It truely can be an adventure. Its all on how you approach it.

hey there! oh boy- this is kind of what i've been doing lately. so lazy when it comes to prepping food. i need to start putting together recipes besides the lovely standby guacamole-- though i do love it- can't eat it always. anyway, check out alissa's book and other raw cookbooks- you'll see there are endless options and soon you won't know what to make, as there will be too many meals to choose from.

and without spending a penny you can always check out the raw recipes at the forum. i like linda's idea too- turning cooked food recipes into raw recipes. it doesn't always have to be salad.

Even if you decide to eat very simple, it is still not booring. Fruits don't always taste the same, even from the same tree. The more simple you eat, the more you notice this too. Plus I try not to use food as entertainment so much, I try to eat for nutrition instead. Although when I am eating mango chunks in lime juice I can't help but enjoy it emensely! Notice I said TRY! lol

You could also consider making raw soups and dips in your blender. to me, eating raw veggies plain is boring, but dipping them in a raw dip helps to add some variety.

Adding good oils (cold-pressed, extra-virgin) to your salads will raise the taste level of your meals by a factor of 10. Try adding this, especially olive oil, which really combines well with tomatoes and zucchinis especially. Just one tablespoon of olive oil in your salad will give you an extra 320 calories, if you're worried about becoming too thin

you can eat whatever you want. bottled dressings are not raw, though. try some extra-virgin cold-pressed olive oil, or some orange juice mixed with tahini.

smoothies are great for variety..throw whatever fruit you have around the house into a blender with some ice and water or OJ and voila.

picking up the book will help a lot. in the meantime, google fromsadtoraw..a page full of free raw recipes to tide you over til the book arrives.
