I have a few questions for those of you who aren't 100% raw.

What percentage of your diet is raw (true to estimate)?
What cooked foods do you eat?
How often do you eat cooked foods?

Thanks!

i started to go 100% raw, but man o man... i just couldn't do it. i have to have my ranch dressing on my salads or i can't eat them. i also use a little milk in my smoothies. so i guess i am about 95% raw.

Answer to question 1- about 60%- going for 80%
" " " 3- once or twice a day- depends on how prepared I am

I would prefer answering ?# 2 in an email, if you'd like to email me personally, let me know.

I eat about 95% raw.

I don't eat any animal products, except raw honey.

If I eat cooked it is rice and fried vegetables or boiled veggies that I add to salads. Most of the time this is because I am out with co workers and there is no raw option for me. I don't fry veggies myself at home, although I do boil corn and pumpkin occasionally.

I don't eat anything processed. So my non-raw is healthy IMHO.

It depends, currently I'm on 100% raw 30 day stint, which I do regularly.

But mostly I'm about 85% raw, I don't cook at home, but go out and may have cooked. I find it's far more relaxing socially.

I eat a variety of cooked foods, all vegan as I'm vegan (have been for about 10 years). These foods may include tofu, veggie pies, stir frys, coffee, cakes and other sweets, sometimes things like pizzas. It really depends on where I am.

I keep a bit of a mental tally (not too obsessed about it though) to keep a rough percentage of raw at the 85% mark usually on a weekly basis.

I tend to try and leave cooked food for special occasions with non raw friends, or when I just haven't got the opportunity to find a fruit shop or make my own.

I call my cooked food my 'social credit'. It gives me the opportunity to go out with non raw (usually veg) friends without too much hassle. I love going out to restaurants and there just isn't anything for raw foodists here at the moment (except for one small cafe that has a 'raw' cake . It has carob powder, most likely cooked).

I'm lucky in that I always get drawn back to raw, I find myself wanting (sometimes craving) greens or fruit or other stuff if I have had cooked.

I'm lucky, high raw works for me, I feel great, have lots of energy and all the positive side effects of raw with the percentage that I am, though I do notice I get even better on 100% when I do the stints.

I've also noticed the longer I'm high raw, the quicker the detox and any other minor issues (like a bit of acne, a bit of excess weight etc.) tend to disappear. The first time I did the 30 days, (over a year ago), the results were so dramatic, but I've managed to maintain most of the positives o high raw, so my level of health is much higher.

Hope this helps!

What percentage of your diet is raw (true to estimate)?

About 50-60%

What cooked foods do you eat?

Well I like the sprouted bread by Eziekel. I just started adding cooked eggs into my diet after 5 years of being vegan. Other cooked foods I eat are salsa, pinto beans, sweet potatoes, tofu and lentil soup.

How often do you eat cooked foods?

Every day.

I'm "100%" raw and did it from day one with no exceptions.
I found it very simple. Once you truly make up your mind, you have to also truly commit. Once you are at that point, there is just no question.

I don't eat cooked food.

But the truth is there is always someone who wants to tell you you're not "100%"; but, so far as I know, so far as what I consume, it is a 100% raw diet.

I hate this percentage thing. :)

By the way, JennaLynne you CAN do it. Stop saying "I can't" is the first step ;)

Best,

Personally, I think I am about 90% RAW. I *WILL* be 100%, but because I live on my own and on a tight budget, I can't throw out everything. I did a massive cleanse the other day and chucked the rice and rice pastas. All I have left is a little bit of soy milk - throwing that into a smoothie with a banana, frozen raspberries and blueberries for lunch, 2 cans of legumes and 2 cans of pure pumpkin. Not sure if its RAW or not, but I feed it to my dog for his digestive problems, or throw it into a pie.

Other than that, I might have some condiments that are not raw, but i don't use them and just look at them instead so one day I'll throw them out lol.

Does anyone know if Bob's Red Mill Tapioca beads are raw? cause they are sooooooooo yummy. I can just imagine tapioca pudding with almond milk and raw agave...mmmmmmmmmm

Oh I also have some of Bob's cereals - the brown rice farina and the millet grits from my vegan days...guess they are next to go. i dont even crave them or any carbs to be honest any more.

I am new to raw and I think I am about 50 % raw.
I put my fresh greenbeans, corn on the cob, peas in boiling water for 3-5 min.
I eat broiled baby red potatoes with my husband for supper occasionally
I was drinking soymilk but stopped that
I eat natural peanutbutter with apple slices
I use a spray dressing from wishbone and I can't believe its not butter spray
I have been eating raw fresh salads, raw fresh fruit, and nuts for most of my meals. I am not 100% that all the nuts are raw, but I quit buying canned nuts and started buying from the produce section.
What do you all think?

I found it so hard the other day to find nuts that hadn't been roasted! Most nuts, even the bagges ones, said roasted and salted. I finally ended up with a bag of ones that didn't specify... so I'm not sure if they are raw or not either, but they have salt... yuck.
Oh and all the seeds said roasted or toasted :(

Not quite sure. Maybe 95%?

I eat flourless sprouted bread on occasion. When I go to restaurants, I order salads. Sometimes they come with crumbled cheese or roasted nuts and non-raw balsamic vinegar dressing. I drink beer. Oh, and I've indulged in some warm miso soup a couple of times.

I find all my raw nuts in the baking aisle. The nuts used for baking r natural. At least that is what it says on the bags. I am finding more and more places that carry nuts and seeds but it is the greens I am having a problem finding.

I am on that month long raw stint also so as far as I know i am 100%. I do mostly nuts, raw smoothie and salads. I sure could have gone for a nice warm soup last night as my sinuses r so messed up with this cold. I didnt though. I just went to bed with vicks and tried to feel better that way. I know this is bad to mention here but chicken noodle soup is so comforting for a cold but I left it alone.

If i feel up to it today will make the sweet potato soup and heat it up in the dehydrater. I think that little warmth would help me feel good or better.

I'm committed to going 100% raw and fresh. The only way I'll know if 100% works for my body for a long period of time is if I am actually doing it. And I believe in it so much.

I go to the bulk barn They have lots of variety and have been able to find raw cashews, raw peanuts, raw walnuts, almonds, pecans, macadamias...etc

Some easy things from your current to go raw would be getting some raw almond butter for your apples instead of peanut butter. I add some salt and honey to the almond butter for more flavor. Also have you tried raw corn? It is awesome! Also raw pureed sweet potatoes with a touch of nut or oat milk for creaminess instead of potatoes. Also there are tons of delicious raw salad dressing recipes to try. Those spray or bottled dressings have a lot of sugar and unpronouncable things in them. Little changes make a big difference! Like others I eat all raw at home, and try the best I can to eat raw when I go out.

I have been on the 100% Raw March challenge. This is Day # 7.

During the challenge I have the cooked food I have had has been:
Dark Chocolate, One Organic Clif Bar, Some fake bacon bits on top of my salad, and some cashews that were probably not truly raw.

What I have been eating since March 1st

Breakfast - Orange, Apple

Mid-morning - Banana Berry Smoothie

Lunch : Big salad with nut pate

Salad for dinner with nut pate or avocado dressing

Snack- Piece of dark chocolate or fruit

Right now I am trying to stop the dark chocolate habit.:D
