Greetings!

I'm Kelly. I've been vegan for almost 11 months and have been researching raw lately. I'm trying to eating more raw foods, especially since finding this site.

I don't think I can go 100% raw, but I try to eat 2 raw meals a day. Yesterday, I had a green smoothie (my very first, surprisingly good!). Today I had kale for the first time in a smoothie (3 cups of kale with a carrot, a banana and 3 oranges). The smoothie was supposed to be raw, but my mom came into the kitchen, started complaining that I didn't have enough liquid in it and that I was going to break her blender, and she poured in some soymilk. So I guess breakfast is my cooked meal today!

It's funny, I'd never used a blender in my life before yesterday, and since then I've made 2 green smoothies, dip for veggies and gazpacho soup! I just finished a lunch of gazpacho soup with avocado and a big handful of raw cashews and walnuts.

Question: can I make RP's brownies in a blender? I don't have a food processor.

Welcome to the forums! You'll find tons of tips, recipes and other useful info here. It sounds like your doing a great job already. Blenders are great for many recipes, but a food processor is best to use for some of them. I got mine for $27 bucks at WalMart and I use it everyday. It's a good investment. I make pie crusts, ice cream, raw oat meal, pesto and tons of other stuff with it. I think RP's brownies might be too tough on your blender.

Welcome! Ah thanks Mom, huh for the help of adding liquid!
I agree that RP's brownies would be way too tough on the blender.

Yes green smoothies are surprisingly good! Welcome Kelly. You and that blender are going to get to be good friends. :) Keep us posted on your progress.
