Ahhh! There you are, girl! Hadn't seen you around for a while...
Both were my creations. I still have to figure out the exact measurements but will post them when I do. They were a variation of recipes I've posted before on this board. Let me see if I can locate them... Alright, here we go (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=21179&highlight=asian).
I'm also thinking about doing an Asian theme post on TSRK at some point... Will see how things unfold.
But yes, there were noodles floating in there. I spiralized some zucchini, parsnip and carrot and poured the miso-based broth on top. Yum! It's kinda fun too as you sorta have to eat with a spoon in one hand and chopsticks in the other. LOL Reminds me of how I once saw people eating in a little joint specializing in Thai Soups.
I guess you could also cut the noodles first but that would take away most of the fun...
I've been wondering about making fresh coconut noodles to go in there. Mmmmmm
Any idea how I could do that? I'm thinking of blending fresh coconut flesh and water and pouring it on a teflex sheet. Then dehydrating it and cutting it into strips. I'll keep you posted...
That sounds delish! My husband (SAD EATER) got some noodles from a Chinese food place the other day and I thought to myself that I need to come up with something like that. I'm currently fasting but I've still been collecting recipes LOL. Someone posted a pic of coconut noodles, was it Petals? Ah yes, I found it: http://lucreziaraw.blogspot.com/ scroll down a bit and it looks JUST like the noodles my husband was eating. I of course have NO IDEA how to make those noodles. I would love to have some kind of noodles to add to a miso-type soup... mmmm... miso soup!

Fasting eh? Yet still browsing through the Photo thread... Sounds a little masochistic to me! LOL
Yay! Thanks for that tip about Petals' coconut noodles! I'm onto it! he he
LOL... I know, every time I see a new post in the photos thread I click all excited, only to be left drooling. I keep going back to petals chocolate pudding with cherries. I can't tell you how good that looks and that lasagna you made OMG. I nearly flew to Canada to grab a slice. I've been flipping through all of my MANY recipe books and ebooks and the great thing about recipe searching while fasting (at least for me) is I find a ton of recipes that I didn't even notice before, either they seemed to bland before or ... who knows. I was looking through Maw in the Raw and oh my... everything looks so good. I think I need to stay away from the computer for a few days...

He he... You're funny!
Not to tempt you or anything but I'm in the middle of making Sheryl's Chocolate Caramel Divine cheesecake. Check the photo out here (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=10131&highlight=cheesecake+photo).
How's that to satisfy your photo appetite? LOL
Can't wait to taste it! My next blogpost is going to be on raw cheesecakes (yum!) so the best part is, I get to sample the recipes first! Yay! Man, oh man! I LOVE Raw!:D
How long are you fasting for?
BTW, thanks for reminding me of Raw Food Advantage. I had forgotten about them. Are you affiliated with them in any way?
Funny thing Carmella, I'm not craving nuts right now (which for me is soooooo good). That cheesecake would have make me drool like crazy last week but right now, I'd love a cup of coconut water and then some berries LOL. I am doing the MC, only 10 days and I'm on day 7. I'm quite bored to tell you the truth. I haven't had any detox symptoms, I feel a bit more energized but boy do I miss eating!
As for Raw Food Advantage I bought my dehydrator from them about 6 months ago and was really impressed with the info I was given and I got a great deal. I was on the phone just chatting up the raw lifestyle with someone for about a half hour and he gave me so many pointers. So.... I the other day I decided that I wanted to buy a juicer that had ice cream/nut butter making capabilities and also juiced greens so the first place I checked was Raw Food Advantage. I got a great deal on a demo Samson, it's on its way now.... can't wait to make some sorbet when my fast is over! Just spreading the word on a great site.

Sure looks like Petals chocolate pudding with an agave syrup frosting/topping. It was the one I saw at the blog posted here.
Okay the blog said the noodles were from coconut...now that sure fooled me:
"This creation is a bowl of warm miso noodle soup I ate for dinner today after work. It's an adaption of a Rainbow Green Live Food Cuisine recipe, and pretty quick & simple to make. The noodles are made from young thai coconut meat. One can have warm food when eating raw~ just not too hot or the nutrients and enzymes start to degrade. It's fun to slurp the noodles. This stuff is really really good. Honest!"
To me it looked like chicken noodle soup at the link with above copied post.
With raw, who knows what something is but if we can fake it we can make it.

Ama,
MC eh? That's the fast I did too when I first got into this amazing growth journey.
We, too, connected with the super info that RawFoodAdvantage provides. We would have also liked to purchase some equipment from them as well but, alas, us being in Canada makes it too complicated. Sigh...
It's so cool you'll be able to make nut butters! On my definite wish list! he he
Oh yeah, thanks carolg for reminding me... I had forgotten to ask Petals about coconut noodling.
BTW, did you read that post about sauerkraut? I had a few questions for you...
I'm a MC drop-out. Today was day 8 and after my salt water flush and my first lemon drink, I took a look at the oranges I had waiting patiently for Thursday and I juiced them. I'm expecting my new Samson juicer tomorrow so I'm just going to juice for a few days then add some solids in gradually. I have been CRAVING coconut water like you can't believe. I just made this and am sipping on it now:
Pineapple Plus Delight
2-3 one inch slices fresh pineapple
1 red grapefruit - peeled
2 oranges - peeled
1 apple - cored
1 kiwi fruit - optional Preparation time: 10 minutes
Yields: 1 Qt.

Eh eh... I had forgotten about the horrid salt water flushes! Yuck!
Good on ya! I'm all for going with the flow... Those oranges would have been calling me too!

I'm confused. I know what that delicious inside of young white coconuts taste like with their "jelly" meat inside, but can't figure out how these become noodles. Is it magical? Mine probably will slip right out of my hand or spoon onto the counter or floor depending on fast it hits either area. How do these get so skinny and long too? Any hints????????? Thanks.

I posted a thread to Petals but I don't think she's been on yet to see it. I would also love to know how to make the noodles out of the coconut...

Hey girls,
Funny you should bring it up Beckla, cuz it's been on my mind lately too!
Here's a different miso broth I tried and really, really liked it. It sort of reminds me of Maraw's Avo curry soup, only more spiced up. Yum!
The original recipe calls for sunflower sprouts noodles, but you can replace with whatever noodles: parsnip, carrot, zucchini or (the ultimate!): coconut! Mmmmmmmm
Warm Sunflower Sprout Soup
By Raw Guru
3 cups nut milk
½ cup red bell pepper (chopped)
1 cup tomato (chopped)
1 avocado
2 teaspoons garlic (minced)
1 teaspoon ginger (minced)
3 tbs. cilantro
½ teaspoon turmeric
½ teaspoon hot pepper
1 teaspoon sea salt
½ cup olive or avocado oil
1 cup water
Blend everything till smooth. Pour into a bowl and add sunflower sprouts.
Adjust the heat by adding less or more hot pepper.
Carmella's Notes:
Also good without the sunflower sprouts. Or replace with noodles of choice.

Hi Ama and carolg,
I am not up to speed around here often. I try so much not to have the internet dominate my life only to find that I miss connections with people on boards I post on ~ which is rather pointless! so I just noticed I was being discussed....
anyway....
Carolg~ that miso noodle soups on my blog was real raw miso soup I made with with coconut noodles~ not a can of Cambells dumped in a bowl!!!! geez I have some integrity here folks :) ha ha
I was going thru a anti~ mushroom phase due to reading alot of Gabriel Cousen's works, and the recipe was just a noddle one. I "adapted" it simply by adding some cayenne which is not a part of his program (he he)
I then later saw raw yogi journal's beautiful miso soup on her blog, and I was like seaweed~ i LOVE seaweed and yes I am going to add some shiitake mushrooms too, so I made the soup again~ adding more stuff.
As far as the coconut noodle thing goes ~ it's really kinda hard to describe ( and long too) My daughter ( who is not raw) made them thou, and it's on my raw food journal with photos to show how I ( we) do it. They are pretty easy to make. As my daughter never made them before, and did pretty good for her first time even thou we were joking and being silly and did kinda mess it up ! We had a good time.
bla bla bla ~ happy easter to those who celebrate it!

Ha Ha. I have a religious fast twice a week and I am thinking about food all the time as well. I pray often but the food still comes back. At least, looking at the raw food pictures makes me feel closer to God than all that cooked food I used to love.:) :) :o :p
