View Full Version : My Rebounder Came
Hey Guys,
I woke up early this morning and tried out the Rebounder. It came with a bunch of workout dvds so I started out with the Intro one for 15 minutes. Boy, now I understand why the rebounder is such a good workout! It's hard to keep up that momentum for 15 minutes while concentrating on posture, balance and following moves. You feel like you are doing resistance training for 15 minutes non stop. I felt all my lower body muscles contract and some pressure all along my spine.
I wonder if the other dvds are longer than 15 minutes. That's gonna kick my ass! Oh well at least I did it all. I did not quit. Yey for me for getting up early. I plan on getting up early everyday. It's a great way to start the day. I have written it here so I better keep my word to all of you! :) This is great for accountability.
Anyone else got the Urban Rebounder or another brand? How long are your workouts? Do you follow the workouts on dvds?

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get yours from and about how much was it? I have really been wanting one but have not decided on a brand yet! Thanks
I got it at their website - www.urbanrebounder.com. It's $120 and you get 3 workout videos/dvds. It's foldable but I have to say it is pretty big and sturdy (I did not expect it to be so heavy) and it comes with a stabilizing bar if you need one.
Also they have over 20 workouts on dvd you can purchase (besides the 3 that come with it) so it would really be hard to get bored. You can almost go a month without repeating any.
Themes include Box, Kick, Ballet, Core, Abs, Basic, Advanced, Power, Resistance, African, Latin, Hip Hop.....
Also buying one dvd is about $20 but they sell compilations that have 2-6 on one dvd and are reduced to $25 for all on one dvd. That's a good price.
Looks like most workouts are about an hour.

Thanks for the feedback on the rebounder Myka.
I've been thinking of getting one but didn't know much about them,
so your review was very helpful :)
Sure no problem. Glad to be of service! :)

Thanks Myka,
I think you just made up my mind for me. I am going to call tonight to get one. I was hoping that it would be heavy and sturdy. Did it take very long for it to arrive?

Rebounding Benefits the Body...
Rebounding is an exercise that can reduce your body fat; firms your legs, thighs, abdomen, arms, and hips; increases your agility; improves your sense of balance; strengthens your muscles over all; provides an aerobic effect for your heart; rejuvenates your body when it's tired, and generally puts you in a state of health and fitness.

I've often thought of purchasing a rebounder myself. My question is, and it's an embarrassing one - is there a weight limit? If I were too heavy, could I break it?

Nature's 1st Law carries a rebounder.
The weight limit for the HolisticBounder is 300 pounds.
About Price -
I don't know if the way they are built are really indicative of the differance in price. Urban Rebounder is the one they use in the gyms, I can attest to the sturdiness and it costs the least of the high end types at $120. There are plenty that claim health benefits and charge $220 - $400!

Is it different than the cheap $20 ones? We already have one of those so I'm just curious.
Thanks!

I have a Stamina one that cost $38.95 plus shipping and it works great. It doesn't include a workout but I bought 2 books 2nd hand called "The Miracles of Rebound Exercise" and "Fit for Life II" for a total of $3.00. Both books list the benefits of rebounders and show different exercises. I especially like that the rebounding helps your lymphatic system and strengthens every cell in your body.
Plus I can do it while watching a favorite show or while watching the snow fall in the winter.

I picked one up at a flea market one time. VERY strong, very sturdy. Don't have it now so can't give you the name yet, for those in this area, look in the Recycler or check flea markets and such. These are one of those things folk get, keep for awhile, then get rid of.

I wonder how this one compares to the Needak? Dr. Doug touts and sells the Needak - it is supposed to be the least impact on joints. Is the Urban similar to this? I would like to know how they compare since the Needak claims they are the top of the line. They are selling them on e-bay for $199.
We also have a cheapie $20 one that we got at a sporting goods store. My advice, go with a higher quality one that doesn't hurt joints. The $20 one we have is a lot harder on joints.
