Well, I got pushed into here by a friend, and now I'm enjoying this idea (as I need to get into very good shape within this year), but I have no clue where to start, the list of foods allowed, or what all of this is about.
I know I'm sick of my diet right now, and wouldn't mind trying something new to supply me with much more energy than what I have now. Where do I start? Can this be costly, or will it average about the same I spend on groceries a week ($30-$40). Do I need any weird powders or machinery?
I want to try this, but I'm very lost. I should read the forums, yes, but it's making my eyes cross with so much information. ~squeak~ Help?
Thank yooooou, nice people.

welcome welcome welcome
Welcome to this new Journey! All you need is a sharp knife, a food processor would help and a blender. I think buying fruits and vegtables is cheaper than buying a bunch of meat so you should be ok. Shop sales and warehouse clubs. Best wishes!

Welcome and Best of Luck.
The thread above on how to have a raw diet on a budget is helpful,
I usually get by with my knife and food processor. Every now and then, I may use my very Vita Mix, but most things can be done just as well in a Discount Store Blender or Food Processor.
I start my day with a piece of fruit. Then later in the morning I have a smoothie. I use frozen bananas and berries as a base, and will sometimes add greens or carob powder for a different taste.
I have a huge salad for lunch and dinner with yummy raw dressing or some nut pate. Sometimes at night I have banana ice cream for dessert with some berries. It is really simply a frozen banana food processed with some berries, and or a few nuts and stuff.:p
If you have any other questions feel to search the forums and if you don't see anything ask away. There is alot of information that can be found by using the search feature.
Best of luck on your journey and enjoy the incredible energy from eating Live Foods!:)

Welcome! I am new as well.. the people on here I have found to be wonderful! But I can't relate to that feeling of being overwhelmed. Half the recipies, I've never even heard of the ingredients! But.. start small.. start with what you know... read when ya can. I'm learning, slowly but surely! Good Luck!

You know, as far as the expenses of this new way of eating, I guess I'm spending more, but I have more energy, and being self-employed, I can work more and generate more income, so it's more than paying for itself! Welcome aboard! The raw food lifestyle has been a miracle in my life, trust it will be to you too.
