I was thinking that green smoothies would do me good. Are there any other GOOD bases other than bannanas? I don't like apples in smoothies due to the texture. My stomach doesn't like greens much anymore so I think drinking them would be better.

Also, does anyone know of websites that have a list of all the seasonal fruits for each season?

EDIT: I found the info. I wanted on the seasonal things, but I did remember my question I was going to ask instead, but then forgot!

So far NO ONE has had an answer for me. If you're allergic to wheat, can you do wheatgrass? It's a completely different level of maturity so I'm not sure if it's ok. I'm nervous to try it though!

i like the texture that frozen bananas give smoothies, but you can do oranges, or strawberries, blue berries or mango.

Mango is a great alternative to bananas. But I love my bananas too :) and I don't come by mangos that often
Is that a new picture? It's gorgeous!
By the way, if you don't like the taste of the bananas you can add some berries in with it. yum. I find you don't need many bananas for a LOT of greens. You could do like 10 cups of greens with just like 2 good sized bananas and some berries if you want. I, of course, use tons of bananas but thats for the calories and because I like them.

Sorry I don't know a website but I'm sure you could google it.

Thanks guys. I can't do bananas. My body doesn't react well with them. The taste is ok in smoothies to me, but that's not the issue. Haha, I don't like mangos either

I guess I could try oranges, but to me greens + oranges doesn't seem thick enough and the greens would still be in pieces? I guess the only way to find out is to try it lol.

Here's a link to a seasonal produce guide month by month! It's wonderful!

I usually make smoothies with at least four different fruits. I freeze both bananas and pineapples. Try cutting a pineapple into chunks (including the core) and freezing them.

Dreamrawalwz,

I had the exact same question as you about the wheat grass when I was at my local healthfood store the other day - so I asked...

I was told that the composition of the grass is very different than the grain - first the big thing that affects most people in wheat and some other grains is the gluten - of which the grass has none - there is also very little starch to upset the stomach.

I tried a green supplement powder that had wheatgrass and had no sypmtoms...if you can get a shot or two somewhere to try without having to commit, that would help you determine if it is right for you.

Dream.....I have the banana issue also. Frozen peaches (fresh if you have them) work nicely as a smoothie thickener in lieu of bananas.
