My poor old reliable Hamilton Beach Food Processor gave up on me tonight when I was making Alissa's fudge balls. What's a good replacement? I've liked the hb for years, but it has struggled with stiff things like fudge and the date nut torte. I like things that work well, are easy to clean and not too expensive. Any suggestions??:o

I have a HB big mouth - 14 cup capacity and love it. It has never failed me with anything.
Here's a thread talking about FP's...

Thanks, Veganforlife. I was looking at the HB bm on line along with others, and was drawn to it. The one that died was a HB, and I've been pleased with it. the 14 cup capacity appealed to me as well.:)
BTW, I love your avatar! I'm curious about how you get it on there with no frame around it. I guess it's just a graphic???? :o

I use the Black and Decker 8 or 10 cup model...had mine for 3 years now and paid less than $30 for it! :D

Although on the more expensive side, I love my Cuisinart (11 cup, they make 14c as well). It has a "dough" mode that tackles things like raw brownies with ease. The motor in it is hardcore. I also use it as my blender. I have a Kitchen Aid blender but my Cusinart beats it hands down for green smoothies, etc. My only wish was that I got the larger version. 11 is adequate but 14 would be sublime. I've had it for years and it's still going strong. Made extremely well.

Yes, it's just a graphic. Just like me. I'm but just a graphic in this thing we call life.

My new HB bm is doing a fine job for me. I'm glad I got it.

I love mine too. Although the hinged lid? One of the hinges broke. Not sure how it happened, but I called as it is less then a year old and they are sending me a new one. For $5.99, waiving shipping for this "one time only" deal. That made me laugh, but anyway, I'm getting a new lid. Mine still works but it was a pain having to carefully line it up each time. Just a word of caution, be careful w/the lid.
Hey Blazin - r u a biker?

I am too late to chime in but I have a Black and Decker that I keep at my son's house when I am there and a Cuisinart at home which I love. Both work great!

Glad to hear that you got the Big Mouth. I just got one a few weeks ago, and I LOVE it. It has been really great. It replaced a Black & Decker that I had for a while. I really like the 14 cup capacity and the fact that the blade sits low in the cup. It works really well!

VeganforLife -- I am, in fact, a biker. I ride a road bike. Yesterday was the first really nice day we've had to ride here in central Missouri, so we went about 26 miles. It gelt great to be out! Are you a biker too? One thing I've been concerned about, though not so much now as in the beginning of my raw food days in Dec./Jan., is packing good snacks along for day-long rides and multi-day rides. do you know something about that?

BTW--I think most of the answers you give people make lots of sense!:)

Cool! I bike too! Can't wait for the weather to settle and get out there on the road. I prefer road biking as well. Hmmmm snacks? I think nuts and raisins are the easies to pack and eat on the road.
26 miles? You go! Awesome!
What kind of bike do you have?
I have a Trek 5200 - I posted a picture in another thread when someone was asking about what type of hybrid bike to get.
And thank you for saying the answers I give make sense. I try to make sense most of the time. Sometimes I'm just way off...
take care! Be careful out there biking girl!
