My name is Bianka. I am from Miami, FL, mother of 2 grown up children(25 and 23) and my dear furbaby Yorkie boy.
Actually, I am 49 years old, weight 165 pounds and would like to lose the excess pounds I have as I am 5'4" , furthermore, my main goal with the raw diet is to be healthier and live a longer live:) .
I learned about the raw diet on the Yorkietalk forum I visit frequently to read, learn and check pics of yorkies. Right there, I found the website to Alissa Cohen and I am hooked up to her site and all sites regarding the raw diet.
During this week, I will be ordering my appliances, the book and dvd, as well as a few more things.
Thanks for the opportunity of meeting new friends here and also learn what I need to in order to meet my goals.

Hey there Bianka - welcome. I have two furbabies also. Emma and Heidi, two little mini Dachshunds. Emma is a wire-haired (wild haired) and Heidi is a smooth, dapple. They are my buds.
You will benefit tremendously from eating raw. Raw is so very healing! I've been Vegetarian for 26 years, then Vegan for 2 and now raw for 9 months. I have had migraines my entire life - they are gone since going raw. Not one! I'm 53. My thyroid is now functioning after six years of being dead and my thyroid doc trying to regulate meds. Plus I've dropped 40 pounds! I feel alive - you will too. The weight coming off is nice, yes, but FEELING good is unreal!!!
Welcome. Search for any and all questions you may have. I have almost all the raw books out there and I tell you - Alissa's is THE BEST by far. I highlighted certain things that I would refer back to. You will be glad you ran across this forum!

As VW (valerie) said above, this is a wonderfully supportive forum with lots of warm-hearted folks. You will find lots of good ideas, and lovely friends to share your journey into the Living Foods Lifestyle.
I experienced the benefits of raw about 2 years ago and unfortunately was unable to maintain my Raw commitment to myself. I have returned with great Joy and am grateful for this forum and the folks here, for their presence and support. It helps having others who are on the same journey, especially for me.
There is not one person in my life even open to the idea of raw food. It helps checking in here, and feeling sane, for a change! :D
Blessings to you on your journey,
Sharon in Colorado

I have a medium red fur doggie who I started to feed raw about 2 months ago. She loves it now! And she'll eat things like bananas that she wouldn't touch before hand.
Keep us posted on your progress!

Welcome to you! Best wishes on your new journey to health!
My son lives in Pembroke Pines. I just love visiting him and taking advantage of all the raw treats in the area. I usually hurry to the store and stock up on Glaser Farms goodies!
Nice to meet you!
