I have the master cleanse recipe but am confused as to what is the salt water flush people are talking about.

What is it and when do you do it?
I thought salt is considered toxic to raw foodists.

And what is the laxative tea and do you have to take that?
I cant take senna.

Thanks!
Need to get back going raw :)

to clean out your intestines, and because the salt is flushed through in a short period of time, it is my understanding that the body does not absorb it. Somehow, on an empty stomach, it provides a laxative effect but without the painful cramps associated with chemical laxatives. Can't remember what page it's talked about in the Master Cleanse, but I know it's in there. Another point is that it's very important to not use standard table salt, but either Celtic Sea Salt or Real Salt - both of which have a much higher mineral content and have not been processed to death.

I can't take the senna, either, and when I did the Master Cleanse (albeit for a very short period of time), I never bothered with the tea. I also ended up not doing the salt water flush every day, but that was my personal preference.

Good luck!

The salt flush is 2 teaspoons sea salt and 1 quart (32oz) water.

It is very important to empty the bowels on the MC as the toxins need to get out. Try searching for a lax tea without senna. The tea I'm drinking, "get regular" by yogi teas is a bunch of other stuff along with senna so it isn't majorly strong I do the salt water flush every morning as I want maximum results.
