View Full Version : Living Lasagna Recipe!
03-15-2005, 07:57 PM
I just made the best lasagna recipe... I combined two recipes. I started with the Italian-Style Living Lasagna recipe in Angel Foods by Cherie Soria but used Alissa's Ricotta recipe instead of the ricotta recipe that originally went with this recipe.
Oh sooooo good! I ate almost half of the casserole full! If anyone is interested and doesn't have these books, please PM me for the recipes and I will get them right off to you!
03-15-2005, 08:09 PM
I'd like the Angel Foods recipe; I already have Alissa's book for her recipe. Why did you decide to combine the recipes?
03-15-2005, 10:10 PM
I wanted to make the lasagna recipe in the Angel Foods book, but that recipe calls for Almond Ricotta Cheese that required making Rejuvilac, so instead I used Alissas Ricotta recipe on page 421. Much easier!
I will send you the recipe!
03-16-2005, 12:49 PM
oh cool. i will have to try that. i have both books. is it very time-consuming?
03-16-2005, 01:42 PM
I have Alissa's book, but would love the other recipe. THANKS! :)
03-16-2005, 07:56 PM
Hi Kristi! No this really isn't that time consuming. I figure once it is made it will last for several meals so that cuts down the time on other food prep too!
Hi Paula! I just PM'd the recipe to you, hope you enjoy it!
03-16-2005, 08:34 PM
Cinnamon, I would appreciate it if you would share the recipe with me. Pleeease? :)
Edited to add: I also have Alissa's recipe, only need the other one.
03-16-2005, 08:35 PM
I would love the recipe too! I have Alissa's so just the other.
I could really use a raw lasagna about now. TIA

Hi Christa and Punky!
I just sent the recipe to you, check your private messages! Hope you enjoy it.
03-16-2005, 11:34 PM
Thanks Cinnamon. It looks absolutely delicious!
03-17-2005, 04:33 AM
I'd love that recipe too! Thanks! (Could you simply post it in this thread? Might be easier than PMing everyone. Just a thought.)
03-17-2005, 07:50 AM
Thanks Cinnamon, got it!
It really does look delicous! I can't wait to make it :D
I think it would be ok to post it on the thread as well;
I see others posting recipes from other books they have.
03-17-2005, 08:03 AM
I am glad everyone is enjoying getting this recipe! And yes, those who have suggested I just post it here as it would be easier, you are right! But before I started this thread I emailed a moderator to be sure of the rules for posting recipes out of books, especially Alissa's, and this is the preferred way to do it. I didn't want to cause any problems concerning the rights of the authors.
So I will send it off to you now Melissa, enjoy!!

Hi! What a lovely board, everyone is warm and present.
Would you send me the recipe as well, please? I remember making the Rainbow Green lasagna for my first dinner party - it was good but ever so time consuming..
03-17-2005, 04:33 PM
Just sent it to you simple berry... hope you like it!
03-17-2005, 04:57 PM
I just finished my second slice and oooooh my it's good. Addictive, even. :D
I made a few changes [I can't help it!]. Last night I made the marinara and marinaded zucchini [I didn't use nearly as much marinade as the recipe called for]. I sealed them separately in canning jars in the fridge. Also I didn't pre-soak the sun dried tomatoes so the sauce really thickened overnight. Waiting really made the flavors POP; in the future I'll cut seasonings in half. I dehydrated for four hours before eating. Oh! I almost forgot I added cut chunks of portabella mushroom and stirred it into the marinara just before "canning." I think if I were feeding a cooked food person this is what I would make. It is not an inexpensive dish, but the flavors and textures are so concentrated [in a good way] one slice really will satisfy.

And thank you Christa for your message adding your personal touch to the recipe, I am including it with the recipe in my recipe file. I am so glad you are enjoying it and you are right that it would be a great dish to serve a cooked food person!

04-24-2006, 03:25 PM
unfortunately these recipes are copyrighted, and they sell them in the books they sell, Raw chefs and authors really should be compensated fro their efforts, so please just buy the book if you want the recipes, you'll get way more than your money's worth.
from a raw chef/author
04-24-2006, 03:36 PM
When I first started this thread a year ago I asked one of the moderators if it was okay to email the recipe (not Alissa's of course) to those who requested it versus posting it as I would never do that (copyrights and all) and I was told that was fine.
So based on the email requests that is what I did and I did not give out Alissa's recipe. That is the only reason I shared this recipe to begin with per moderators permission, that being said I guess I will have to suggest you find the other book at the library or purchase it if you'd like as it is a great book too, at the suggestion of Rawpriestess.
I hope you find lasagna recipes you all enjoy though!
04-24-2006, 03:41 PM
rp and cinnamon -- i totally understand!
cinnamon -- which book is that recipe in?
04-24-2006, 03:51 PM
I started with the Italian-Style Living Lasagna recipe in Angel Foods by Cherie Soria and then used Alissa's Ricotta recipe instead of the ricotta recipe that originally went with this recipe. It was a great combination! I hope you enjoy it as well.
04-24-2006, 03:58 PM
thanks, cinnamon. i'll try to find the book at the library! :)
04-24-2006, 05:16 PM
Thanks Cinnamon! I'll be going after Cherie's book to find the recipe too. :D
04-27-2006, 11:10 PM
