View Full Version : Living Lasagna Recipe!

I just made the best lasagna recipe... I combined two recipes. I started with the Italian-Style Living Lasagna recipe in Angel Foods by Cherie Soria but used Alissa's Ricotta recipe instead of the ricotta recipe that originally went with this recipe.
Oh sooooo good! I ate almost half of the casserole full! If anyone is interested and doesn't have these books, please PM me for the recipes and I will get them right off to you!

I'd like the Angel Foods recipe; I already have Alissa's book for her recipe. Why did you decide to combine the recipes?

Hi Allison,
I wanted to make the lasagna recipe in the Angel Foods book, but that recipe calls for Almond Ricotta Cheese that required making Rejuvilac, so instead I used Alissas Ricotta recipe on page 421. Much easier!
I will send you the recipe!

Hi Kristi! No this really isn't that time consuming. I figure once it is made it will last for several meals so that cuts down the time on other food prep too!
Hi Paula! I just PM'd the recipe to you, hope you enjoy it!

I am glad everyone is enjoying getting this recipe! And yes, those who have suggested I just post it here as it would be easier, you are right! But before I started this thread I emailed a moderator to be sure of the rules for posting recipes out of books, especially Alissa's, and this is the preferred way to do it. I didn't want to cause any problems concerning the rights of the authors.
So I will send it off to you now Melissa, enjoy!!

I just finished my second slice and oooooh my it's good. Addictive, even. :D
I made a few changes [I can't help it!]. Last night I made the marinara and marinaded zucchini [I didn't use nearly as much marinade as the recipe called for]. I sealed them separately in canning jars in the fridge. Also I didn't pre-soak the sun dried tomatoes so the sauce really thickened overnight. Waiting really made the flavors POP; in the future I'll cut seasonings in half. I dehydrated for four hours before eating. Oh! I almost forgot I added cut chunks of portabella mushroom and stirred it into the marinara just before "canning." I think if I were feeding a cooked food person this is what I would make. It is not an inexpensive dish, but the flavors and textures are so concentrated [in a good way] one slice really will satisfy.

unfortunately these recipes are copyrighted, and they sell them in the books they sell, Raw chefs and authors really should be compensated fro their efforts, so please just buy the book if you want the recipes, you'll get way more than your money's worth.

When I first started this thread a year ago I asked one of the moderators if it was okay to email the recipe (not Alissa's of course) to those who requested it versus posting it as I would never do that (copyrights and all) and I was told that was fine.
So based on the email requests that is what I did and I did not give out Alissa's recipe. That is the only reason I shared this recipe to begin with per moderators permission, that being said I guess I will have to suggest you find the other book at the library or purchase it if you'd like as it is a great book too, at the suggestion of Rawpriestess.
I hope you find lasagna recipes you all enjoy though!
