Today marks one year of being vegan!! Just thought I'd mention that. My next goal is 1 year raw. I don't miss meat or meat products. I don't crave them. After a while I didn't even THINK of it as "food" and just wasn't in my thought process at all. I hope that happens to me with raw after a while. I've gained more compassion for the animals and I feel for them as I walk near the deli section. It's as if they're calling to me or something - I fee their energies I guess? I've been looking at my clothing lately and furniture to be more vegan. It's a process, but I'm glad I did it. This one step had me research more and more. Going raw helped in that too, but learning about what animal products do to your body is really shocking and eye opening if you were taught completely opposite. My mom is now vegan and my dad is eventually going to work his way there. My aunt is now vegan as well. It takes one person to be an example for those around you to change :D

Wow Congrats Tracey! that is so awesome. It is amazing how much we can influence people with our energies. It hasn't worked at all for me yet with the whole raw vegan thing, but I have seen my influence pass on to other people in major ways without my intending to do so if that makes sense. Any way I just wanted to let you know how wonderful I think it is to have committed to such a large step to leading a more compassionate, healthy lifestyle! and of course that you influenced so many others along the way. wooo go Tracey! lol.

That's awesome Dream! Almost every human has the power to save the lives of 1000's of animals over the course of just a few years. Perhaps millions over the course of a vegan life. Something to think about / shoot for! LOL. For sure!

Congratulations! Some people choose a vegan, and/ or raw lifestyle for health reasons only, but it adds a whole new dimension and motivation when you begin to learn about the side that deals with compassion for animals and their rights.

Congratulations! I have been going vegan myself. I really do not miss the meat and dairy either. Well, maybe the cheese some. I was reading how large heards use up a lot of our natural resources. Also I am trying so many new foods since going vegan that it has been pretty interesting and tasty!

Thank you everyone! I'm glad I did it for my heath, animals, and the environment as a whole. I know I can't change it all, but one person can make a big impact, and when more follow, the impact will continue to grow. For those just starting out, keep going. It can be a process, so don't give up :)

Good job. That's wonderful. I've been vegan for 1.5 yrs now and like you said, I don't even think about eating anything that's not vegan. My mom is vegan now too and my 11 yr old nephew would like to be (but my lame brother makes him eat what he's served). My sister is also pretty close. I sent her Alissa's book and she's incorporating a lot into her and her family's diet. :D You're right...it really only takes one person to make an impact. Congratulations!
It's nice to be part of the Food Revolution (Also a great book by John Robbins).
In Robbins' book, Food Revolution, he includes one of the most poignant meat-eating to vegan stories I have ever read. It is about a man who follows his dad into the pig farming business and after meating (pun intended) John Robbins he has an incredible transformation. Highly recommended story to share with others.
PS I also wanted to complement your new avatar photo! Very lovely!
Best of luck on attaining your next goal, one year of raw vegan. I am with you on that one!
Vibrant Health and continued Blessings on your journey!:)

Thanks. I use an olive oil and aloe soap by Kiss My Face we sell at the store. I don't think it has cattle fat, but I'll look into it. I can't do coconut oil because i'm allergic to it, but we do have castile soap at my store.
