This is almost so surreal for me, its just plain wierd.

I am now currently about 75-80% Raw and going on my 3rd week of 0 Coffee.
I still have small amounts of caffeine in other forms (green & black tea, acai zola juice) but I no longer reach for that morning cup like i used too.
I have a cooked meal probably 2-3 times a week and meat 1-2 xs a week.
LIfe is a process, its gradual. and what a shock to the system it is when you apply so many changes.

I am noticing a big change in my taste buds, its bizarre. I was probably 40-50% Raw since January and bumped up to 75% beginning of Feb.

On Monday, I didnt want to make anything at home and wanted to get out of the house, so I went to have Mexican food and some guac.
ordered a chicken taco, enchilada & chile relleno w/ chips n salsa. the food tasted bland and i got full so fast i barely made a dent in my plate. i only ate the chilie relleno probably cause it didnt have chicken.
it was just not as satisfying as i thought it would be!

on a whim i ate one of those Cadbury Creme Easter Eggs and it was so disgusting i spit it out! of course i always only eat organic dark chocolate if i do, but that was just NASTY!!!

i dont have ravenous cravings anymore, i would know for sure as today i just started my menstrual cycle ( i barely noticed i was pre-menstrual last week)
those mornings of cramps and cravings, I would reach for a cup of coffee and a chocolate croissant only to make me feel worse.

Now the GREEN SMOOTHIE has found its way in my life as a way to start my day!!! :D

My skin is clearing up and I can focus and think clearly more at work and on school. I will never miss those mornings of having to cover up all my blemishes and spot-check my makeup throughout the day to make sure my skin looked flawless, it really keeps me from living life the way i want. Coffee crashes and feeling sluggish is what keeps me from living life the way i need to live it.

The more i continue this, the more shiny and polished i will become.
Finally, a shine that lasts.

I've noticed a phenomenal change in taste after a 3 week experiment so far, of going without added salt (celtic or otherwise).

Today I blogged about it. I tried to cheat even, on my favorite cooked food, and couldn't handle even one tiny taste. I thought I was "craving" it, but go figure - needless to say the "craving" is gone and I now can't wait for my husband to bring home my organic Iranian dates this evening.

If I had still been including salt in my raw food diet, I'd likely have had no problem going back to cooked anything. But my body is now telling me what it really wants.

Hmmm. I wonder if I am even capable of giving up salt??? I too am amazed that I love the taste of veggies so much...I can practically eat a bag of spinach plain. But I do love my salt. Hmm. I might challenge myself to a week and see what happens.

You know, that's crazy because I noticed recently that I am supposed to get my 'month friend' any day now, and I haven't had any uncontrolable cravings either!!! I mean, THIS IS BIG NEWS! hahaha......okay, well I've been on a strict diet for over a year for celiac disease and tons of allergies.....so I'm eating a wider variety now that I'm raw....but usually I would just give in and have peanut butter (natural) but still, MY BODY HATES PEANUTS AND PEANUT BUTTER. (I get horrible pains, digestive problems, gas, etc. just from a few tsps.).....and I'm actually craving lettuce these past few days!  :D That is a REAL shocker! And there is still peanut butter sitting in the frige...and I haven't even looked at it or thought about it until now!

I mean, when I first heard about raw I was like, I hate RAW veggies (loved them cooked).....now I'M CRAVING THEM!?!?!?

I am the last person whom I ever believed could give up salt.
Trust me, I used to be the queen of pouring salt all over everything. When everyone else would complain "too salty", I'd still be pouring it on so I could enjoy it.

So to cut salt out, I replaced anything which would ordinarily need salt with largely sweet fruit and green smoothies, and I'm amazed now that anything with the slightest bit of added salt is disgusting to me, now. If I can give up salt for a sustained period of time, anybody can.

Salt irritates my taste buds, and is addictive to me. So I've been keeping it plain and simple. And I love it. Tomatoes and celery have a high natural salt content, so they've been in lots of salads, but I never dreamed food could taste so good.

I too have definitely noticed a marked change in my sense of taste. I never used to particularly enjoy the taste of tomatoes, for example. To my tastebuds, they tasted acrid and sour, and I simply ate them because I knew they are good for you, but recently (along with carrots, and zucchinis) I have commented several times to myself on how amazingly sweet they taste...carrotts especially, which literally taste like candy bars to me nowadays

My sense of smell has grown more acute as well. Fruits and vegetables smell so appealing to me now, although I must admit, so does recently baked bread, but that's always been the case, and will never change :D When I walk into a fruit and veg shop, and get a whiff of the strong, heady aroma of fresh produce, it's all i can do not to blow my entire weekly budget in there, including funds I've allocated toward my utility costs!

Another thing that I've noticed --and it's exactly something that another poster mentioned a little while ago on this forum-- is that my daily water intake requirements have gone way down too. I used to have to drink at least 1.5 litres of water per day, otherwise I would begin to feel 'dry' after a couple of days, and 'my waters' would darken up :o . Now however, I only drink maybe a cup or two of water per day (more on the weekends because I fast on the weekends), and I never feel dehydrated at all. That is definitely cool!
