Hello people,
It has been a long time since I have been on this forum...I stop by, time to time - but I rarely post. However, today...I am so frustrated with the SAD refridgerator that I could SCREAM. It really is set up to support a SAD diet. I have two drawers on the bottom that are tinted. Tinted? I hate that I can not see into them. Sometimes I forget I have anything in there at all.
And who thought of round containers? Round containers DO NOT fit nicely in a square box.
I bought a few anchor square glass containers with lids...I should have measured but they seemed perfect. They do not fit in my door. I was going to use them for fastfood (cut up carrots, broccoli, etc.) for my kids.
I am currently thinking I need to buy a new fridge. Maybe the drawer kind that will leave more room for counter.
Has anyone had similar issues with their fridge and has anyone used the drawer fridge?

Good day,
Donna

Donna,
Thank God you have a refrigerator to store food in. I think most refrigerators are set up for SAD diets, but some more user friendly these days. Since bins are tinted, here's some suggestions.

Make list of what is in bins. On each bin, put that list into a plastic bag that is now tapped onto the outside of the bin. You will now know what is inside the tinted bins. You may find clear bins by same manufacturer. You may put the list outside refrigerator door too. You may call used appliance store to see if they have inexpensive bins that are clear. I even forget stuff in my bins, but they are not clear till I pull it out or move the stuff on the shelf above to peak in a little.

Personally, I love glass ware so I do store stuff in glass and can see inside. I save my plastic veggie containers that Earthbound 1 pound veggies come in and even store that way.

I wonder if a Food Saver could help but I am not an expert in this regard or if the expensive is worth it.

I bet great suggestions will help you further. Take care. Welcome back to our list whenever you decide to pop in.

I store my nuts and seeds in my drawers (WHOA! Now THAT'S a loaded answer - HA!).
Seriously, use the drawers for stuff that you don't use as much.
Round into a square - that's okay. I have a salad spinner that's round, but I do use Tupperware's rectangular Fridge smarts. Keeps produce fresh a long, long time.
Consider a mind challenge!;)
