Ok,
I made some rejuvelac, it smelled like up-chuck :( , but I was determined to try it. I poured about 8 ounces off and drank it. Did not breath and it went down no problem. So, I poured another 8 ounces and drank that also, stomach felt a little wheezy...but I continued. Then I poured the last 8 ounces and it smelt the worst and it was cloudy. I guess I should have poured it all off first... Oh well. Anyway...I am determined to lose 50+ pounds and try to stay complete raw...Today is my third day...
Well the last 8 ounces I added a Meyer lemon and some raw agave nectar, 8 more ounces of filtered water and a straw (don't want it at the nose...it still stinks). It wasn't too bad. I could do this once a day if it will help.
Now my question is, has it helped anyone? What benefit did you get?
I'm making my first batch right now. I'm a little aprehensive about it, but what the hey.... I'm making it to make nut cheese, but I'll probably take a swig.
I'd be very interested in others' experiences with it, too!

Hi Oyafunke - glad to see you made it on the board. I am sure someone here can share more with you on their experiences with Rejuvelac. Were you able to get in touch with that doctor I told you about?
Don't forget to drink lots of water too!

No, I haven't contacted him yet, I have been working on my end of the month cases and I have to have them completed by 10pm. (Lot of work)...anyway
I just wanted to let you know I prepared raw on Monday. I fixed a red and green cold slaw, marinated some greens, made broccoli tofu and some almond pate. Yesterday, I made some sun burgers with my carrot pulp. I'm trying to work it.....:D

I used to make rejuvelac a lot. I've haven't been doing it lately; instead I've been buying the Synergy Kombucha drinks which are raw and fermented. I always felt intuitively that rejuvelac was doing good things for me. How are you making yours? I would sprout some rye, blend it with some water, pour it in a big bowl and add more water to create a gallon, then let it sit and ferment for a day. It was usually perfect, but if the temperature in the house went below 68 or above 75, then it wouldn't come out well. If it got too hot, it would spoil. Remember, fermented drinks are not spoiled, and they should not taste spoiled.

When I first started raw a year ago, I used to make this a lot. I don't think I drank it regularly enough to feel a difference.

Rejuvelac is a fermented beverage made from grains which is a good probiotic and supplies B-vitamins.

I don't have any desire to drink this. I'll take my sauerkraut instead. But I know a lot of folks swear by this stuff...

Okay,
I was at day number two for drinking that stuff and it still smells like up-chuck..:( .I don't know about a lemony smell. I don't think I will continue, I think I need recipes or Kim Chee and other fermented foods...

Oya,
I'm not sure if I'm doing it right or not, but my batch does not smell like up-chuck. Could yours have gotten too warm while fermenting?
