I know its not as healthy as sprouting the garbanzo beans, but from the same company I found the raw stone ground wheat from, I found raw stone ground garbanzo beans!
They are ground fine into a powder, and I made an amazing hummus out of it, and it tastes EXACTLY like the cooked version, and you don't have to wait to sprout the beans (although, you probably should...but if in need of a quick fix...). I made this without the tahini, since I have a friend who is allergic to nuts and seeds...it tasted the same!
HUMMUS:
3/4 c. garbanzo bean powder/flour
1 lemon, juiced
2 cloves of garlic
1/4 c. olive oil
1/2 c. water
sea salt
cracked pepper
1/4-1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 tsp. cumin (I add more because I love cumin!)
Mix all ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth. The powder will need to be scraped up and incorporated, because it will be a little chunky at first, but keep blending. I garnished with finely chopped red bell pepper and some paprika. It had the same flavor and consistency...I couldn't believe it!
