Hi Everybody,

I gave up coffee two days ago, it was seriously messing with my body, adding to stress, messing with my sleep patterns, and screwing up my adrenal glands.

And yet, with all of those negatives, I still find myself wanting a cup! Craziness, I know!

BUT, I am committed to loving myself, and loving my body today, so I choose not to harm it, and to keep it safe.

I just wanted to share that. And anybody who identifies, please comment!;)

I understand. I was having panic attacks all the blasted time until I quit the coffee. The panic attacks were causing this weird kind of depression. A panicky type depression. I always thought I was dying, and I was NEVER a hypo before, but I felt like one because I was always sure the littlest queasy feeling in the stomach or headache or caffeine surge was going to be my death. Before that I never complained of being sick even if I was. It lasted for a few months.
I am SO glad it's over!!!!

collardgreenes, I can totally relate! I gave up coffee a day or 2 before I started my 30 day challenge, and I had been cutting back prior to that. So I've been off coffee completely for maybe 7 or 8 days. I didn't get major withdrawal symptoms I guess because I did it a little more gradually this time. So that was nice. I still do miss it. And sometimes I'm tempted. But so far, so good. I'm thinking of trying some alternatives in the way of raw recipes, but I haven't bothered yet. It seems easier this time for me, I guess I'm more dedicated to raw this time around, so I'm just focusing on staying raw, whatever it takes. :)

That's great! You will feel so much more relaxed.

What helps is printing out a list of all the bad affects of coffee and putting up on the wall where you can remind yourself of why you choose not to drink it anymore. I also transitioned with green tea for a week and no headaches.

I like your attitude about taking care of your body! Coffee is a hard beverage to let go of. I can go days without coffee then I will want one really bad. I have had a couple since I started my raw diet.
