What can i make with them?
Can i grind them up and make anything that's tasty?
Thanks for the help.

Look in Alissa's book. I think the chick-un patties calls for sprouted lentils.

I never have sprouted them THEN dehydrated them.... I just sprout them JUST until they get a tiny white spot where the tail is, then use them. If they get too long a tail, they're bitter. And I'm not sure why you dehydrated them?
You need to buy and READ Alissa's book so you know what you're doing, maybe?

The only recipe i made with dehydrated lentils sprouts was a raw burger.
After i took them out of the dehydrater i mixed them with tomatoes, onions and red peppers and grinded them up in the blender and seasoned them and put them in patty form and let them sit for a couple of hours and they were great, i guess i could have put them back in the dehydrater for a couple of more hours but they tasted so good.

when you take the lentils out of the dehydrater soften them in some olive oil first so they won't be too hard and then gring them in a food processor with the veggies.
I'm grinding mine now it will take some time but the flavor is you will taste will be worth it. Don't forget to add onions to the mix.
I think i will form mine into small meat loafs this time and make some tomato sauce to pour over them for dinner.

I don't see why they need to be dehydrated. First I've ever heard of it. If you don't dehydrate them at all they won't be "too hard" to grind in the food processor, and you won't need to "resoften" them to the state they were in pre-dehydration.
Where did you get the idea that sprouting lentils is such an ordeal?
I just sprout and eat.....

I agree with the non-dehydrators. New one on me unless, you're looking to make sprouted lentil flour for some reason.
Consider this ~ keep this as simple as you can ~ or ~ don't complicate it. It becomes too much work and not fun anymore and playing with one's food should be FUN!!!!

"You need to buy and READ Alissa's book so you know what you're doing, maybe?" I realize this is Alissa's web site, but do you really believe that anyone without her book is totally clueless. I'm not the OP but I find that rather offensive. I guess I need to hang out somewhere not here.

I just made sprouted lentils into spicy nuts in the dehydrator. They are crunchy and fantastic.
When you sprout and then dehydrate them they are, I don't know it is kind of hard to explain. It is almost like they are full of air. They aren't solid like you would think.
They are light and crunchy. I seasoned them with onion, garlic, cayenne etc... and pick your salty type of thing ...some use Bragg's or sea salt or Nama Shoyu.
Very good. My kids LOVE them and are eating them up like crazy!

That sounds good! Thanks for sharing since "crunch" is something many of us miss.

Thanks for being so sweet and thoughtful.
My meatloaf turned out great, dehydrating the lentils gives the lentils a nice flavor and they hold together great. Next time i will a make them in burger form for my husband to take to lunch with him, something that will hold together.
I have Alissa's book but i like being creative too.
I will try your recipe when i sprout the other lentils.
Thanks again for being so creative and thoughtful.

Glad you enjoyed the message. So many times you come across people that are not very kind and when you do come in contact with people that are as sweet as you it makes my day also.
My meatloaf turned out pretty good, the only thing my husband mentioned was that it was kind of light so next time i will put more onions and peppers in it to make it heavier for him. He's not a very light eater so i change things for him:)
If you have anymore ideas that you use for dehydrated lentils please let me know.
Luv

I'm not sure why you're offended.
I certainly meant no offense.
Nor did I mean to be unkind.
Sometimes in emails, when you cannot see a person's face or body language, it's easy to misunderstand someone's intention.
Anyway... we hope you stay :p

:) I love everyone;sometimes you run across someone that just stands out more than others but that does not mean that you dislike anyone.
Everyone is unique and special in their own way.
That's what makes this world go around.

I understand why she was offended, I found it read a bit harsh as well. So glad you wrote this response and brought up the issue of text not conveying tone, body language, etc. It's so easy to be misunderstood without all the other forms of communication supporting words.
I also find it very interesting that while dehydrating lentils seemed a strange thing to do, we now all have a cool recipe to try. Raw is all about experimentation. Great, Bethanie!!

I didn't find dehydrating in and of itself puzzling. I just wondered why at first they were dehydrated and then needed to be re-softened right away with olive oil, because prior to dehydration they are already soft :D
So the crunchy snack thing, when it was explained, made sense. :)
I don't eat lentils as much as I used to, but when I do, I just sprout them and eat them as is, either in a salad or on their own.

mouth i just thought about making up something quick. I didn't want lentil flour and i had left the lentils in the dehydrater much too long and they had dried out so i moistened them a bit before blending so i would be sure they would not be too crunchy and it worked for me.
Next time i will not leave them in as long, other than that everything worked out fine and my husband is happy and that makes me feel real good.
These will be added to the things he takes for his lunch.
