Hi, I would just like to know what your experience WAS with detox. I capitalized WAS because I'd like to get the input from the people who have gone through probably the WORST of it. I know they say it has to get worse before it gets better, but I'm wondering when it 'got better' for you.

Today I woke up extremely tired, my eyes were closing on the subway ride to work. Now everytime I look in the mirror, I get disgusted. I look pale. My eyes are not as wide and pronounced as they usually are. All of the pores on my face seem to be extremely noticeable, even with make up on, my stomach is larger than ever (I'm getting a colonic tonight - so maybe that will help the bloat?) And my IC (intersitial cystitis) is flaring up. I just want to be done with this day and it's only 12:21PM.

Today is day 16 for me. My question is, why do they say '30 day trial' when it's half over and I'm feeling like crap. How is one supposed to be completely motivated to be happy about this when you don't see any changes for a while? don't get me wrong, I'm not quitting at all. I find the diet easy, really. I don't miss cooked foods. So it's not like I'm putting real effort into sticking with this, but I just want a little sign or something....one little sign....

Please give me encouragement stories.......tell me about yourself! :o I know everyone is different, but I'm just wondering when you got the simplistic things back, like energy for one? I miss my energy........:( 16 days without it seems like forever already! (I know, I'm being a whiny baby right now:rolleyes: ).......I know I need to eat when I'm hungry, drink lots of water and rest when I can, but what was YOUR experience with the first month, or two..or however long it took for you to start feeling 'ALIVE.'

Thank you!!!

Danielle

Really? There are no stories out there? It's weird because it seems like a lot of you see huge differences but no one can tell me about their first month? I'm confused.....

Maybe I'm just not waiting long enough for a response....but I thought someone would have posted their experience by now........

Sorry, not trying to be pushy, I just want some encouragement regarding detox issues in the first few weeks, months......

I've only been back 100% since January 19, and before that my longest at 100% was close to 2 months. I haven't had a big detox yet, but when I first starting incresing my raw in July '05 I got a REALLY bad rash. Itched like hell.

I have been completely raw since the 15th of this month and have had NO real syptoms yet. A little bloating and a headache:) . I was 95% raw for 3 weeks before that, maybe that helped ease off the worst of it. Or maybe the worst is yet to come. I went completely off antidepressants and a lot of wine and coffie. But instead of feeling worse I feel WAY better. This was a life or death change for me. REALLY:( :D

i had a ton of detox going on at the beginning...i was exhausted for the first few weeks, it was so hard to get through the day. but i knew it was working, i knew i was detoxing and i knew i would get through it. my candida came out ten fold, the worst of all the detoxing was my itching body, oral thrush and the worst yeast infection ever...i was literally crying myself to sleep. i also experienced a lot of emotions, irritability, frustration, confusion...but the great change was immediate, i felt amazing one day, i suddenly became a morning person, and also none of my pants fit...it was wild!

just hang in there it will end, and you will be amazed! another wonderful thing is that i am becoming so much more aware of my body, i can tell when i need to eat certain vitamins, what my cravings are, if i need to go to bed early, that i need to go for a walk, yoga, it's like my body is no longer a mystery anymore.

This is the kinda stuff I want to hear!!! That sounds a lot like me right now (the detox part).....I just feel like complete $H!T...seriously, like I'm in a daze....I'm all puffy.....I'm not even dressed up for work...hehe .....I just don't want to take my comfy snowy boots off....thank God there's still slush on the ground for an excuse......and I'm not that busy today!

You said that your candida came out all over the place. Is it completely gone now? How did you treat the infection? No treatment? I'm scared of that....I get bad yeast infections....

And that's how it really waS? You just woke up one day and noticed you felt alive again? I can't wait for that day.............

MORE STORIES WELCOME!:D

i'm not sure if the candida is completely gone...i am eating lots of raw yummies with agave nectar and tons of fruits, which may have some affect on feeding the yeast, but i haven't had any symptoms since my last big "outbreak." i used lots of coconut oil, in my tea as well and on my yeast infection. i also use lots of Young Living essential oils and there are several for yeast...

and yes just within a day or two...BAM...i felt amazing!

I didn't think I could do this...till I discovered Green Smoothies. I add a few organic leafy greens to a regular smoothie and it really helps me with my energy. I read "Green For Life" and it motivated me to add lots of leafy greens to my diet..via smoothies cause they break down the leafs better than chewing.

Also, I think it depends on what you used to eat. We were vegans for a year and didn't have any major detoxes yet. I had lots of phlem for the first few weeks. And coughing. Just my body trying to get rid of the crap.

But I really do belive the green smoothies help speed that detox process along. And also helps me not have such major cravings for breads and sweets. They fill me up too. So I don't feel hungry all day... like I did when I first started.

But hang in there...it takes awhile to get clean out your system. Think of it like a wound. Some people have small wounds and they heal faster ...some have very large wounds and they take longer to heal. But you have the answer to getting better....You just have to ride it out and let your body do what it needs to do.

I also recommend wheatgrass shots. I have one in the morning like a shot of coffee and it wakes up my mind and my body.
