Just thought I'd share for those of you who haven't tried it yet. I made it today and it is scrumptous!
My favorite today was putting some in a martini glass and eating it with a spoon.
ok - everything eaten out of a martini glass seems more amazing somehow so It's my new standard!

Thank you for the review! This sounds wonderful as does the idea of using a martini glass to serve it in. As soon as I am finished with Alissa's Black Forest Cake I made today, I will make this recipe.
I just made the second layer of the Black Forest Cake to eat as pudding. I do this often, it sure takes care of my chocolate fix!

I've not ventured into her chocolate cake recipes at all! Do you recommend them?

The Black Forest Cake is the only chocolate recipe I've tried from Alissa's book, so far! I've made several of the other desserts and enjoyed them all, but the Black Forest Cake is now my favorite dessert recipe, even over any "baked" favorites I used to eat! If you try it, please let me know what you think!

Did you use frozen cherries in the Black Forest Cake? Can you get fresh cherries this time of year?

I use frozen cherries, wish I could get fresh ones but even in the summer it is hard to get them and not pay a fortune!

Thanks for letting me know this is good, I love black forest cake lol. Looks like the birds are gonna have competition for the cherries off the backyard tree this year. :D

I am really going to have to stop reading these threads referring to Alissa's recipes. I cannot WAIT to get the book, which probably won't get here until early this coming week.
:::::administering several lashings with spiral-sliced veggie pasta to self for not having paid extra for super-fast delivery::::::: Oh, wait a minute! I forgot...the spiral slicer is in the order, too. Rutabagas!

Okay... so I couldn't wait and made Alissa's Raspberry Banana Pudding Pie today and yes... it is scrumptous! Thanks again for the recommendation!
I used mixed berries as I didn't have just raspberries, oh yes... yummy! And I didn't make the crust as I've been in a pudding mode. This one is another keeper!

DotfromOz - you crack me up!!!!!
Cinnamon - I like your idea of not making the crust - it's better for you that way because you're not doing some bad food combining!!
I'm going to a photographers lunch on Thursday and I want to bring something that will make them jealous of my rawness!
Maybe the raspberry banana pie!

Thanks, Catherine, for mentioning this. If you like it, I'm sure I will, too. I haven't really ventured into the chocolate recipes either, though I did use the Fudge Balls to help me get through a few weeks of cravings. I do like the idea with the pudding of keeping it fruit and not doing bad food combining.
