i'm thinking about ordering an excalibur.

but i'm kinda confused about what the paraflex sheets do. i figured i'd order some to start out when i order it.

but they sell 11x11
and 14x14 sizes.

this is like greek to me.

Dehydrator trays have holes in them so the air can circulate around the food and it will dry faster. This works really good if you are drying pieces of fruit or veggies. But if you want to make fruit leather or a batch of raw crackers you can’t pour the liquid mixture onto a tray with holes or it will drip right through. That’s where the sheets come in. You lay the sheets on top of the tray with the holes, and then pour your mixture on top of that. The sheets should be the same size as the trays of your dehydrator.

Dimensions: 12 1/2"H x 17"W x 19"D

what is the answer is none of the above?

:)

would it be better to go with bigger or smaller? do things leak over the side? or go right up to the edge a lot?

i have ZERO practical experience with these things.

I believe the 11x11 Teflex sheets fit the 4-tray Excalibur and the 14x14 fit the 5 and 9-tray models, so it depends which model you are buying.

You can also just use parchment paper.

If you are ordering through Alissa's site, you can call and they can help you. If you can wait, she is putting out new dehydrators. Check out her store - to the left!
I have a 9-tray and love it, and I'm only one person. So glad I got the bigger model.
