do you see them as a mucous forming food? i've eaten quite a few these past two days and have finally linked them to my incredibly amount of mucous in the throat and was wondering if that is likely true?
discuss!

Bananas are consdiered slightly alkaline. It's probably more of your body's own reaction of producing mucous in excess rather than the banana itself. Do you find yourself having mucous excess when you eat more sweet concentrated foods? whether raw of when you were not?

I can't say I've ever found bananas to be mucus-forming for me. In my case, lemon juice does the trick, but I see this as a good thing since it is a sign that my system is being cleared of gunk that would have otherwise continued to reside within, and clog up, my system. So lemons and lemon juice are a central and regular feature of my diet, and everytime I've eaten some, I have to clear my throat and chest, although not to the same extent as when I first went completely raw almost 2 months ago. For me, bananas are the food of the gods

"Everything is based on mind, is led by mind, is fashioned by mind. If you speak and act with a polluted mind, suffering will follow you, as the wheels of the oxcart follow the footsteps of the ox.
Everything is based on mind, is led by mind, is fashioned by mind. If you speak and act with a pure mind, happiness will follow you, as a shadow clings to a form".
I love your quote! Thank you! I needed to see that!

You are most welcome startootsie, most welcome indeed :) I'm glad and honoured that the quote was of some benefit to you. Like the raw diet, it's what I live my life by, and I keep it, in one form or another, before me at all times. The beautiful irony of everything that follows from the quote is that when you take the feelings of others into consideration, and resolve to only send out good energy to them, in recognition of their precious humanity and interconnectedness with you and everything else in this universe, it is you who ultimately will benefit most. Thus, selfless compassion, forgiveness, and loving kindness toward your fellow human beings is really the most selfish thing you can do...heheh...I like it!

Actually for me it is the opposite. Bananas are one food that don't create any excess mucous for me.:)

Oh! I thought this thread was about the little stickers that come on the store bananas. You know the ones that promote things like, "Great with cereal!" or "Eat fresh fruits daily", you know thoughts ON bananas!
Sorry. Didn't mean to hijack this thread!!!

Hello there,
My body is super sensitive to anything less than ideal and I get mucus from the smallest dietary infractions, but bananas have never bothered me at all. Make sure you are eating them ripe. Don't eat them until they have brown spots on them.
Wishing you all the best,
Audrey
