View Full Version : Speaking negatively

against cooked food eaters is happening again. I thought we were asked by the moderators to stop the 'put downs' against cooked food eaters??? So many of us are not 100% raw and struggling, have been raw for 10 minutes and come off holier than thou, or were raw for many months and went backed to cooked and yet post such negativity against people eating what they just wiped their mouth from! I don't know if this is defensiveness talking, but I'm finding this site not a pleasant place to read anymore.

It is wonderful to feel the freedom raw inspires in us, but why are we casting stones against others? Surely, we can feel our good feelings of relief and release with this lifestyle without being mean-spirited against those who are struggling, or who chose a different level of raw or who chose a different road altogether?

Gosh! I hope I have not offended anyone and if I have, I apologize. I understand how hard this must be some folks. I would never cut anyone down for eating how they feel they should. I state my opinions on various addictive foods (coffee for one - my "some observations" thread), but I know what is working for me.
I actually have found this forum to be so very helpful for me in my learning what raw is all about and trying to help others.
Hope you continue to read the "good" threads...

Wow I never realized there have been comments against people who aren't 100% RAW. I'm not but I feel that this forum is great in finding stuff to transition from SAD to RAW. I'm slowly but surely finding substitute recipes and even just snacking on fruits and veggies instead of junk food as a slow transition, but a transition nonetheless.
I believe I've gotten support from everyone if I ask for it, but never shown any negativity!

Please let me know if I offend anyone, I truly would never ever intend it...nor would I want to come off as "holier than thou" in any way!

Sorry that you have been offended, I think we all want this forum to be a positive place so thank you for stating your feelings on this.

I'm confused... I must have missed some posts...?

My husband is cooked and I cook for him even tho I'm raw! I feel raw is a choice and how much raw is a choice...I'm sure most of us feel pretty open and not negative towards cooked fooders...don't let a bad apple get to you sweetie....but I have mucho respect for you speaking up! :)

LaRue, I get where you are coming from.... I had the same first impression when I started reading raw boards... not this one in particular. Keep reading and don't get too offended. There is much more positive to be learned and read than there is negative!

I'm not 100% raw or vegan and I don't care what anyone else thinks of that. I'm following my own path and doing what is right for me at this very moment in time. Perhaps one day I will make the full jump to raw vegan.

;)

Thanks all, I really appreciate you 'hearing' me even if you don't see it or agree. That's what it's all about!

I try to focus on what I want in my life, and speak about what I wish to manifest, that way, I am moving toward what I wish and desire.

Hopefully, others will do the same.

Maybe another section should be made for the board, Like raw fooders 100% over 1 year or something... So they wont have to re read the same questions over again, and when they're in the mood to answer some of those questions they can just hop on over to this board... I dunno.

I cook still, for my family who still eats cooked. Any inadvertent negative may have been when occasionally I let the cliched "SAD" acronym out without intending to. If this has offended anyone, I apologize. I'm the only raw fooder I know in real life - so I don't think I walk around with a negative mindset about all my family and friends.

I make a concerted effort to use "cooked" rather than SAD.

Maybe this is why she thought people were speaking negatively. SAD to my knowledge was an acrynom for Standard American Diet. It really is not a slam. I was confused at first when I saw this not knowing what it meant. I too have to cook for my family. I am the only one trying to live this lifestyle too in my family. I applaud anyone who is trying to live a more healthy lifestyle what ever the percentage of raw is. However the point of the website is to encourage people to eat raw so I can see where the focus may have seemed more raw oriented than cooked. I think that is the goal (to eat more raw food) and we are all striving for eating this way. I myself am not 100% raw but am trying to strive toward eating as much raw as I can. But as I have said in other threads, I realistically don't ever think that I will never eat cooked food again. It is about everyone's individual goals and what you feel you need to do for your body.

Woa unto anyone who finds a sense of superiority over others in how they eat.

Is a cheetah a lesser being than a cow because he eats a gazelle here and there? No way!

If you eat 90% cooked and processed, but have chosen to take a MANAGABLE and SUSTAINABLE step forward by adding a cup of fresh broccoli to your diet every other day, I applaud you!

If you are 100% raw and un-challenged by it, I invite you to be INSPIRED by anyone who musters the courage and discipline to take the first step toward greater health in their diet...no matter how small. We are ALL works in progress. What other areas of your life might you address and progress in- one step at a time? Let's all come with a beginners mind and leave our ego's safely stowed in our cast-off Pringles cans!

A perfect body is not perfect health until the mind and the heart follow. Earthly enlightenment is not likely found in a "just" salad bowl, but through a diverse, multidimensional experience of life! HA!

I think this thread can rest now.

Moderators and Alissa have ALWAYS encouraged all of us---if you have a problem with something or someone, email them or email the person directly. We don't need more opinions, assumptions or speculations to add to the topic.

I've been here since 2004, these boards are a HEAVENLY PALACE compared to some other boards that members bash each other and cuss eat each other---let's be GREATUFL AND MOVE FORWARD.

RAW RAW RAW :)

Misslinda is correct! This thread can rest now because it can potentially end up creating even MORE drama.

Let's ALL just remember that most (if not all) of us were at one point or another cooked food eaters and some still are but are trying very dilligently to get to a diet of eating all or mostly raw foods.

Let's all be more tolerant and just support one another in achieving our goals rather than tear others down to make ourselves feel better. We'll all be the better for it!

Thanks! :)
