The hardest part of staying raw for me is in the morning when I drive to work with normally a huge mug of coffee. I have been drinking water (not quite the same!), but finally decided I had to try something else. After seeing "Nirvanna Manna", I decided to try my own recipe for chocolate chai. It is a process, but well worth it! Not only is it tasty, but it's very satisfying and warming...
I don't measure anything (sorry), but you'll get the idea...
cocoa nibs, ground to a powder with cardamom seeds, cinnamon stick, vanilla bean, dried ginger, white pepper corns, grated nutmeg. (Those were all the spices I had on hand at the moment.)
I put the powder in a container, then this morning I made almond milk, then threw in some coconut butter, and raw honey to taste (I generally don't like things too sweet), blended it (more like whipped it) with the powder I had made yesterday, and it was fantastic! After that I don't even need anything else! The spices are very warming, so I really didn't miss the temperature. And, it was quite filling! Just thought I'd share that, because I have read so many confessions regarding the addictions to the morning drink:D
