can raw meals be frozen?

i know (or assume) that desserts can be. but, what about leftovers OR using the idea of advance meal prep? obviously this wouldn't pertain to a simple sald, but a prepared recipe (maybe a pate or something).

i kind of think that the freezing process may reduce nutrients, just curious what's the skinny on freezing?

THANKS! can you tell how excited i am about this raw lifestyle?

Hi Kim,

Welcome to this board and to the Raw Food World!

Yep! Desserts do freeze like a dream! I don't know though about pate as I've never tried but you can freeze a LOT of raw goodies.

In fact, it makes eating raw sooooooo much simpler and practical, allowing you to freeze left-overs and to whip up a last minute meal with hardly any prep.

I always keep a reserve in my freezer of:
- crackers
- breads
- wraps
- cookies
- pizza crusts
- burgers

I have also successfully frozen Alissa's falafels, raviolis and eggplant parmesan in the past.

Freezing does affect the enzymes, but apparently less than dehydration does. In my book, better eat something perhaps slightly impaired in terms of nutrients than to eat cooked.

I also recommend you do a search on freezing. There has been a lot of good posts on that topic on this forum.

Have fun uncooking!
