HOW do you get raw corn off the cob? do tell! thanks! kim
I hold it up on one end and slice the kernels off. It's really messy, though. Maybe there's a better way.
Maybe there's a better way.
Not really. Been watching the old-timers do it that way for years!

Hi Kim,
They used to use corn cob cutters. I tried the wood kind with the stainless steel blade (http://tinyurl.com/2t59o3)but found it wasn’t much easier then just using a knife. Could be I didn’t invest enough time to develop the technique. There are actually several different types of corn cob cutters.

I have seen devices which are metal and round that are placed over the end and tightened somehow to cut it off in one sweep... also, when I cut it off, I turn the cob on its side, and cut it off that way, longways, so there is less distance for it to fall, and less mess..

I ate allot of raw corn last year. I used either my teeth or a knife depending on how I wanted to eat the corn. :D
