Hi,

Well, I'm new. I already posted a question somewhere but I thought I'd introduce myself. I started 100% raw last Tuesday. So, Feb. 13th. I've had longstanding issues with interstitial cystitis, celiac disease, leaky gut, candida, and miscelaneous problems. Well, after my first day raw, the pain in my kidneys went away. I never found out what the pain was from as the doctor couldn't find anything (not unusual- sorry:rolleyes: ), and it's been on and off for the past 3 months. The longest I've ever had those pains. Also, in this first week, the joint pain in my knees are gone. I used 'sitting too long' as my excuse for that pain, but it's gone already!!! hmmm......Also, I have better spirits and I feel very hopeful. Well, maybe just because I know this is the healthiest diet possible and if THIS doesn't work, NOTHING WILL, so I'm relaxing a little, not worrying as much. God made this food FOR US, so now I leave it COMPLETELY in God's hands. There is nothing else I can do!

Anyway, I've been having a major runny nose since last Thursday, and I know it's not a cold because that is my only symptom. Plus, I haven't had a regluar cold in about 1 1/2 years, so it's got to be detox. I am having a lot of bloating and on and off and fatigue, but as I've been reading posts for the past week, I think it's mostly due to incorrect food combining and too much fat (avocados - nut cheese!!!). Today I've only eaten fruit so far and I'm not tired AT ALL. Except I'm still bloated, but I guess that could also be detox? I HOPE SO.

I'm not doing this to loose weight although bloating up so much I have gained about 5lbs that I would like to loose. But moreso, just because I want to feel comfortable and have my flat stomach back......Also, I don't find this hard at all because I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED WHOLE NATURAL FOODS. When I was younger, my Mom only had veggies and fruits for us to snack on (although I would also run to my friend's pantry for the junk!!)......so it's a natural thing for me. Plus, I live in NYC so I know when I get a seriously bad craving, I can always run to Jubbs, or somewhere else to get flax crackers and 'cheese' or some chocolate parfait. Also, this past week has given me more freedom than I've allowed myself in the past year........sticking to only brown rice, certain veggies, certain fruit (nothing too exotic), meat and fish (which I'll admit I LOVE but never really CRAAAVED. Plus, driving myself insane with trying to do an elimination diet when the foods that I always started with never seemed to work out quite right. (Hence the cooked brown rice and meat and fish and cooked veggies). Soooo, I feel pretty free right about now. No thoughts of ever going back to my old habits.....I've never had a problem giving up foods that make me feel like crap (ex. gluten for celiac, dairy, corn, processed sugar, etc. - although overeating to the point of uncomfortableness is another story................why is that..?)

I really hope this works for me, but I haven't heard anything but GOOD about raw (yet?).And I love that '30 days Raw'.....I put the UTUBE on myspace...................

So I guess that's it for now.... you guys are stuck with me!!!! :D

Alissa, yes, I totally feel like I'm onto something huge. Like FINALLY I will be able to live again......I'm really excited because after reading so many posts for the past few days, I tried the mostly fruit and veggies ,low fat thing today, and I HAVE SO MUCH ENERGY!!!!!!!!! IF IT WERE NICE OUT I WOULDN'T WANT TO BE HOME RIGHT NOW AT 8:00 ON A THURSDAY!!! I see you started recently too..........what have you noticed so far?

well, i just finished my second day. and i've been having some gi problems for months and months. but what i've noticed so far is that HOORAY! my system seems to tolerate everything i've eaten so far which is HUGE. and beyond that there was some serious stuff going wrong 4 days ago. i had white poop. which is apparently very very bad. well, yesterday it was a little better. and today it looks downright solid and normal. this has not happened to me since last summer. so this in itself is a miracle. i also just came off the master cleanse a week ago. so i think that my system has undergone some massive detox. but i think i'm also maybe allergic to like EVERYTHING. but so far this diet seems to be working out.

but beyond that i'm also finding that i really have liked everything i've made so far. though my family would disagree. AND i feel like i have a lot of energy and clarity. i'm also kind of enjoying trying out the new recipes.

so, overall i think i'm off to a good start.

Ooooohhhh I am so jealous that you live in NYC and can run to get flax crackers!

But before I read that part I had already become infected with your hopefulness and wanted to thank you for that. You will get much relief if not totally healed with raw!
