Haha, well the title says it all. I was hoping someone could help me out with an odd idea.

I really love chinese food, but there will not be anything like it raw. My roomies get it all the time and it'll be here smelling all good like it does. I thought that maybe I could find some terribly nasty facts about chinese food or any SAD food that newbies want to give up. I haven't found any yet, so I thought I'd ask if anyone knows anything terrible about the stuff(or another hard to give up SAD food). I know you'd at least be helping me give up some bad stuff, and maybe some other newbies too.

I just want to feel less urdge when it comes into the house, and thinking of something nasty related to it may just do the trick. I know I'm silly, but whatever I think might help is worth a shot:D

There are actually some pretty good "fried rice" recipes out there... you use sprouted grain (not rice) and mix finely chopped scallions, carrots, and other vegies in it, and use nama shoyu on it. It's pretty danged good!

You can also make some nice plum sauce or other honey mustard type sauces. Poke around... do you have Alissa's book?

Most chinese food is loaded with MSG, which makes me feel ill and also is bad for your health:

Ditto katK on the MSG which is in most SAD foods these days....

Now when I get a craving for something along that line (chinese food) I have taken a zucchini and turned it into "noodles" with the spiral salad gadget thing (sorry can't think of its name at the moment) and then added a little chopped green onion, chopped carrots and sometimes even green pepper. Then I throw in a few shakes of red pepper and a few shakes of Braggs (I don't know how you feel about Braggs, I've read on this site that it is not completely raw). I just let this sit in a bowl and marinate. You can place this in the dehydrator for warm noodles. To me, they remind me of eating Ramen noodles when I was younger.

Ooh thanks, Lavendar. Someone on my forum has ramen noodles for an avatar, and it always makes me a little crazy. I'll try that :)
