Hello all. I am getting better and better at eating more and more raw everyday. I want to try the 30 day challenge and be 100% raw for March. Thats about a week away. I think my hardest thing will be giving up sugar/sweets. I will have fruit in it's place, but even right now I will have fruit and still want that SAD food in the house. I can't get rid of the food cuz I ahve 3 guy roomies who are not healthy at all. So I am wondering how can I resist it? I know because of how addicted I am with sugar (I just ate like 1/2 a thing of Pilsbury cookie dough.I just like the texture, lmao) that it'll take some time before I won't be tempted anymore. Anyone else have a big addiction to sugar and what happened when you gave it up but it was still around sitting in the house?

Thanks everyone :)

Congrats on your decision to do the 30-day challenge! :)

First, I would ask your roomies if you can keep the treats that tempt you in a separate cupboard and section of the fridge, so you won't see them around as much.

I would also suggest finding raw sweets that you like just as much (if not more) so you don't want the other stuff. They don't have to exactly mimic the SAD version, but it needs to satisfy your craving. You can make raw cookie dough, with almond pulp and chocolate, etc. Write down what tempts you, and think of raw things that might satisify those cravings. There are a host of recipes on this board and you're sure to find ones that you need by searching.

Buy Alissa's book Living on Live Food when you can, there is SO much information in it, and tons of recipes to help you.

Raw ice cream & Raw Priestess brownies!! Many other wonderful, simple raw treats. Raw desserts are the best & are the least tempting SAD foods.

Hmmm. Are you accustomed to eating their food? It just occured to me that I never even contemplate what my roomie has sitting around. Because it would never occur to me to eat her food. Thankfully she eats healthy, but she does have some chips and chocolate sitting out on the counter. I suggest keeping a couple yummy raw desserts prepared for when the cravings hit. Date nut torte is easy. I also love the rp brownies and raw ice cream. Or you can make a nice thick shake. The list goes on. The key is being prepared. Good luck!
