I used to live there for two years. They have a Whole Foods in the Quarry Shopping Area. I forget what highway that is off of now...281? They also have a couple other natural food pantries, but not too many. Check out the Costco's... there is one off of 1604's north loop, and then there is one off of 10W in the northwest corner of town. You can get lots of fruits, nuts, and veggies there, and they often have organic choices. The cafe at Whole Foods was pretty accomodating, as a restaurant. Also there are plenty of independent farmers vending their vegetables in the city proper at Mexican markets or a little ways outside the city on country roads. Finally, the Whole Foods, at least when I left almost two years ago, had classes on preparing raw food and you could sign up for them. I went to one for $15 and it was great!
Good luck there!
