We are back from our trip to Florida.

:) On the way down i stepped out of the car to look at the pine trees, which were beautiful and did not notice any ants until i felt something on my feet and looked down and saw that my feet were covered by "red ants", i had a difficult time knocking them off but i did get them off.
I soon noticed tiny red marks on my feet and the itching started, i put lotion on them not thinking too much about it until a couple of days later red marks appeared and the swelling started on my stomach and waist it was very unpleasent along with the terrible rash around my body including my neck, all this lasted for several days but i'm better now.
So much for a lovely time but the funny part was that my husband and i went to a "TimeShare meeting" and they had free food, we got a plate and loaded it with apples, oranges and other assorted fruits and took it to our table. I filled up on it quickly and had some left over so i asked for a bag to put it in because my purse wouldn't hold it so i finally had one given to me and was going back to the table when this lady that had been talking to us began to ask my husband what i was doing with such a large bag :) :) she thought i was going to fill it with as much fruit as it would hold i guess.
When i returned to the table she informed me that the food was for the other people there. I was only getting a bag for the food i had left over.
It was kind of funny because i could have gotten lots more if i had wanted to ,a lady that was over the food told me to get more but i didn't want to seem greedy.
We're glad to be home and next trip i will watch out for the "ANTS":D

Oh man! Those things are nasty! Glad you are better.
That is nuts about the fruit. But people are funny when it comes to food. Whether it's SAD or good food.
Ever notice how people "perk up" in the nursing homes when it's feeding time?
And I say that with respect, because one day I'll be knocking the others out of the way to get to the fruit!!! LOL!!!:p
Glad your trip was good other then the ants and fruit! Hey! I just thought of something. Next time, gather up some of those ants, let 'em go at the time share meeting and I bet you will have ALL the fruit you want!

With all of the biting and the people running around we would have enough food to last for the whole week:) .
I've got to share this with me husband when he comes home tonight.
It was very high pressure and the ants would have really lightened things up.

I lived in Florida for over 22 years and there was never a year that went by that I did not get bit up somewhat. Not as bad as u but the only reaction I ever had was they developed a white head which itched and once that was opened and gone then it was just that spot that took forever to go away. Some people r major alergic and some have even died from the bites.
I bet u got some great Florida fruits while there or was there not much around. Living in Wis i wish i was in Fl now not only for the warmth and sunshine but there was a better variety of fruits down there. The veggies r another thing though. They spray the heck out of them so it is not safe to eat but a lot of people pick them and eat them like an apple.

Someone else told me that red ant bites can be dangerous.
We did purchase some oranges but they were kind of high in price so we did not get many.
They had some samples so i did eat some, the fruit was very sweet.

Oh my, I'm so sorry the ants got hold of you. Some years we can hardly walk outside without encountering them. Glad you made it back home safe. Hopefully you had some pleasure on the trip.

Yes, i did enjoy the time away.
After hearing all the things that could have happened to me i'm double glad to have made it home in one piece. I'm so glad that we eat healthy.
