A friend gave me a huge bag of passion fruit and says there's more to come if I like them...I assured her I LOVE every kind of fruit and veggie, no problem....welllllllllllllll, I'm not too sure about passion fruit...what do you do with it...???? These are dark purple, sliced in half there's a little bit of jelly like sticky stuff...I'm open to suggestions but for now??? not real sure what to do with them other then put them in a smoothie and it seems like a lot of work since there's not much in each one...
Any suggestions would be appreciated...
Thank you, Elaine

I was NOT impressed by the passion fruit when I tried it before...
You can whizz them up and make a fruit coulis for some raw desserts eg. pies.
You can blitz them up in a smoothie, although the seeds may still remain crunchy.
Incorporate them into some raw treat balls......
You could pack the flesh into some lolly/popsicle moulds and make ice lollies from them!

Passion!
(what a wonderful name for fruit!)
I split them in half and eat them with a spoon.
Or mix several of them in a bowl with lemon juice to make a zesty dressing for fruit salads. Great in cakes, and in foods.
Just make sure they look like rasins, all hard and wrinkly before you eat them. They're quite tart when they're all smooth on the outiside.

I agree with springtime! Make sure the outside is brown and wrinkly/puckered. This is when the passion fruit is ripe.
I have only sliced them in half and eaten them with a spoon, but some ideas above sound good. I may have to try blending them up and freezing into popsicles.

make sure they're raisin-like...brown and wrinkly? How can one tell, when it's spoiled? the sour odor? I, too, have not had a passion fruit before. :o

The smell of a ripe one is AMAZING. Next to honeysuckle one of the best smells on the planet.
