I just ordered the book the other day and am going to get started soon...but this morning as I sat down to eat my normal breakfast of oatmeal with raisins I began to wonder (as I don't have the book yet) am I going to be able to eat my rolled oats boiled anymore?

Just a question as it has been my breakfast for about 20yrs...
Thanks

If the oats won't spout, then they aren't raw. But if cooked oatmeal is part of YOUR transition, you have my 100% support.

ive been buying oat bran , which ive read is not actually the bran of the oat seed but rather the raw dry oat seed ground up , and pouring warm water on it with choice of fruit / sweetener / spice . it dont taste as creamy as the rolled oats but its raw and still does taste good .

Well we can't tell you what to eat and not to eat but if you are transitioning, like Davidzinemason said, we support you in transitionoing-- it's all up to you.

***However, Alissa sells an AMAZING really raw oats that are sooooooooooo soft and yummy! Soak them and you won't miss the cooked version again.:)

I soak raw oats overnight, drain, add a banana (you could add berries or apple etc.), cinnamon then whirl in the processor for a second. It's very creamy- and raw!! Good luck on your new journey.

I just ordered alissa's raw oats and I can't wait to get them...

I've been eating nothing but fruit for breakfast for the past two months! haha.. it'll be nice to have some variety. :D

There are some great "breakfast" alternatives to oatmeal.
I made up one of my own by soaking and grinding almonds to make a "pate'" but instead of making it savoury (salty) I added chopped dates and raisins and a bit of flaxseed meal that I ground in a coffee grinder I keep just for flax....Yummy and filling and full of fiber!

Some folks I know will make their own Almond Milk with fruit on the side for a somewhat lighter but still very nice brekky.
