hey everyone
i was wondering if 99cents is a good price for jumbo mangos. these mangos are bigger than my fists.
also is it better to buy fresh mangos and freeze then to just buy frozen. I am mostly concerned with the money issus.
thanks for all comments

Earlier today I got one huge mango for something like 2 dollars (I live in norhern europe so I guess our mangoes are rather expensive), so 99 cents for a mango sounds like a good deal to me :) !

Best price here is $1.32 ea.

Some mangoes are heat treated by dipping in boiling water for a brief period, so ask your grocer if they know if they are or not.

I paid 99 cents each for large ones too last week. Who knows what this week's price will be. I just posted about great papaya prices at Costco in new link. I always love the soft fruits and aim for buying mangos/papaya soft. They are super sweet this way.

They're about 99 cents here -- unless you get them at Costco. I just finished off a box of 9 mangos for $5.99. Mmmmm. Delicious.

Hi there,
That is a good price for this time of year. You can probably get them a little cheaper in the summer when they are in season.
Pretty soon the little manilla and atafaulo (sp?) mangoes will be in season. Be sure to look for those. They are much smaller, yellow and kidney shaped. They are delicious!!!
All the best,
Audrey

99 cents is good. :D There are only rare occasions here, where they are 2/$1 or the next best is 6/$4

That's the lowest price I've ever seen.
Frozen fruit is usually blanched, at what temperature and fo how long I guess varies depending on the company.
If your budget can hang then fresh is best:p

That is a great price!
The small ones in our area are about $1.30 and the large ones $2.50. I'm finding this time of year the smaller ones haven't been as good as the large ones, don't have a clue why so I've been buying only the larger ones and only organic if I can find them.
Love those mangos!!
