Know how in Alissa's book she says that raw fooders are easy to spot? That they're the ones with the glow and shine in their eyes?

I was at Whole Foods just now with DH (wow!) and I was grabbing a bunch of Lara bars. Can't wait to try them!

Anyway... a woman that worked there comes up to me and asks if I'm an employee. "Nope" I replied. "You just look like someone that would - healthy and stuff." I smiled and said, "Thanks for the compliment!"

$240 down but our kitchen's stocked and DH is about to dive in with me. So stoked!

Beckla - first - I miss your tree hugging photo, but this one is nice too ;)

Not to brag, but I'm known at work and in my family for being "the healthy one". I was before being Vegan, but now even more so. It's a very cool compliment!
Things that make you go "AH!"

How cool is that!
I am so excited that your hubby is joining you in the 30 day challenge.
I am looking forward to meeting soon.
Let's pick a date and decide pot luck in Maynard or Organic Cafe Beverly.
Have an awesome day o-healthy one!

Thanks, guys.

Yeah... I may have to call back the tree hugger.

I made zucchini pasta and A's marinara for dinner last night. Yum. Smoothies this am. I've got a ton of uncooking to do today!

A, I'm all about that.

did you and your husband decide to do this together at the same time? Were you both SADers and needed a change?
I'm curious because I would like to get my husband into eating healther [I]at least[I]. I am glad you are doing this together. It will strengthen your bonds even more as time passes.
Forever the romantic . . . Janet

What a nice journey to take - together...
...and what a compliment...

I used to get those, too. I hope to get those again, soon. It's nice to be thought of as one of "those healthy people." :-)

Moonstone... you are and know it from within!

RNurse... I started raw after my husband's oldest friend came to visit over the holidays. Seeing the change in him, I asked what the story was - he explained that his wife is a raw cook and that he'd taken the challenge.

On 1/5/07 I started - and haven't regretted it.

My husband, Gabe, saw it all and encouraged and supported me from day one. But it took him more time to commit. He's 6'8, 285, a meat and potatoes kinda guy.

He's also, fortunately, extremely open-minded and grew up in Marin County, CA, where he worked in health food stores, etc... so he knows about many of the products/foods many folks find "unusual."

I turned to him on Valentine's Day, asked if he'd consider the 30 day challenge, and he simply said "sure - I'll give this a shot."

I'm purty lucky that way. Lead by example, show the benefits, and with luck (and the secret??) your husband will follow!
