Ok.. so I have a whole bunch of onion bread I made last week but I haven't eaten any of it yet. It's just sitting there looking at me because for the life of me, I can't figure out what might taste good on it.
Any suggestions?
What do you eat ON your onion bread?

Swiss nut cheese, lettuce and tomato. Or just lettuce and tomato if I have no nut cheese.

Rowan...I sometimes will eat it as a side to a salad or soup.
If I put anything on it...it's avo, lettuce, tomato-maybe some sprouts or cukes...
Also- I have made the egg salad recipe for a great topping.
enjoy..:)
BTW- Love the sock monkey avatar:D ...I do miss your adorable Granddaughter.

NOTHING... don't eat it... it's horrible. It's not even good enough for your trash. Best thing to do is to send it to me, I'll take care of it for ya!

I agree with the others. I've also put an avo/olive spread, portobella 'shroom, and sprouts on it.
I also especially like the egg-less spread on it.
But Ama is right. DO NOT EAT IT!
You should send it to both of us! We will definitely take care of it for you!!!;)
I was gonna reply with something stupid like, well first I put my hands on it, then I put it up to my lips and my teeth are next on it. But I decided not to...

That's what I do... for real! My onion bread still never makes it to a proper plate. It usually doesn't even make it out of the dehydrator. IF it does, then I usually end up eating it as a snack by itself. I love the taste of it plain and when I do eat a sandwich (avo/tomato/lettuce) I kind of lose that taste. I know it will sound weird but I don't like to "waste" the onion bread on a sandwich. I like to use a bread that doesn't have such a overpowering taste.

Oh just everything
Alissa's meatloaf in a burger patty shape, with sliced tomato, white onion, lettuce and some cashew mayo and fresh mustard, homemade raw pickles as a burger,
or I use it as a tostada, and add Alissa' meatloaf with a bunch of cumin and chili powder added, chopped tomato, white onion, hot peppers, lettuce, grated carrot and some cashew cheese and hot salsa, mmmmmmm
or.......
it's like they used to say about Ritz crackers,
anything's good if it sits on a Ritz
well, anything's good if it sits on onion bread, LOL
doesn't rhyme, but it's true.

How about, it's worth the price if it sits on an onion bread slice...sorry...it's really early

Well I have to say that this is a recipe I probably won't make again.
I like almost everything, but this one... it's 'ok' but not my favorite.
I'll save it for next week when I have no grocery money lol :D

That's funny because the first time I made the onion bread, I didn't care for it either. But I really like it now. My tastes changed I guess. I followed RAWvolution's Famous Onion bread recipe - straight from his book.

So good. I like the salty/sweet combo.
But honestly, everything tastes good on it!

I didnt care much for it the first time either. Now I use sea salt instead of nama shoyu, a big dollop of honey, and I spread it thinner so it's more cracker bread than bread bread. Mmm mmmm good.
I LOVE it with quinoa tabouleh (from Raw Food Real World). Also v good with that deviled eggless spread and a huge handful greens, avo, tomato.
And I wasn't going to admit this until I saw Yammy's reply, but I too like it with almond butter. It's a weird flavor combo, but very good.

Rowan, what kind of onions did you use? I used sweet...and like that better than yellow or white onions.
I love mine spread with MARAW'S herb cheese spread...with a slice of tomato...I had all the SAD eaters at my couples picnic drooling for some of whatever I was eating!!;) Luckily I ALWAYS bring enough to share!!
