Hello everyone, I just found an interesting thread on coconut butter and how everyone seems to use this brand Artisana Raw Organic Coconut Butter. I live in Canada and ordering that from Alissa would probibly end up costing like $35-40, I did get another kind from the health food store. It's from Everland, organic coconut oil, vegan friendly, 100% pure (oh no it doesn't say raw, does that man I shouldn't use it?) It says it's non-hydrogenated and expeller pressed (does that mean it's cooked?). But I am wondering if I can't find that other coconut buter anywhere here for a reasonable price is it ok to just keep buying and using the kind I have. Thanks.

Here's the link, apperently it's made locally http://www.everlandnaturalfoods.com/coconutoil.htm

Spectrum sells a lovely organic, expeller-pressed, unrefined coconut butter (oil). It has the most heavenly smell. Check and see if your health food store sells it. Expeller -pressed oils are fine in my opinion. If you have questions about their oils, go to www.spectrumorganics.com, they have really good information on what constitutes a cold-pressed oil.

Artisana coconut butter is different from coconut oil, it's made with the flesh of the coconut too, so it's more of a food than an oil.
