I've decided the best thing for me to do is ease into the raw food lifestyle...I
However, I have a question...should I go through a major detox before beginning? Is that how most of you started? I see teas and herbal pills for this detox..I'm just confused...is that a step I should take first? and then start with the raw food?
Sorry if that sounds like a completely ignorant question...

I think that just eating raw foods is detox enough, at least for me right now. I like that a lot of people here say that simple is best. to me, if i start reading about all of the other ways to detox it seems so confusing, then i'll get overwhelmed and stop all together. that's just me though.
i had a colonic once (when not eating much raw food) and i didn't feel a difference afterwards.
also, on my second day of eating raw i felt like my colon was cleaned out already! sorry if that is too much information. :)

Drink massive amounts of water to flush the accumulated gunk out of your system. Green smoothies are also extremely beneficial and cleansing and filling when raw... :D

When I first started raw, I was so excited about this lifestyle that I jumped in head first. I endend up falling of the wagon three times. You may have more willpower than I did. The best advice I could give you is just stay raw. As your introducing more fruits, veggies, nuts, and seeds in your body you are going to naturally detox on your own. Herbal teas do help to speed up the transition and fasting does also. Just remember, everybodies detox time varies from person to person depending on what type of eating lifestyle you had before you started eating live foods. I know people who were eating raw foods for a year straight without any SAD foods and they were still going through detox.
hope this helps.
