View Full Version : Fasting?
Hi all!
I'm new...day 3, but feeling great & amazed by how easy going raw is!
Can someone please break down the idea of fasting for me? I get the concept...but am a little cloudy on the specifics of how it all works. Is it to just detox or to break a food addiction...? How long & what kind do you reccomend? I am planning to not drink juice other than what's IN my fruit, LOL...so I am guessing some maybe do water fasts? I dunno. Maybe most importantly...how do you not go batty? :o
Thanks so much!

Hi AvyB... Welcome to this site! :D
Fasting varies for each person. A juice fast may be the best to start with. In this section there are two threads that may be helpful to look through... FASTING 101 and FASTING SUPPORT (1st page, 1st post).
Wishing you the best with fasting... it can be very healing to the body!
Hi AvyB
I started fasting too so we both can motivate each other, I do not know much about fasting too but this forum have great information. I want to ask the regulars when you water fast, do you drink herbal tea?? Is salt flush ok with water only fasting?? Is enema important?? Iam scared to use it!

Myself, I was drinking in the first two weeks--herbal sun tea that had red clover to invigorate my blood and colon. Salt flush I have used a year ago and I do not like it. It was damaging to me and it really is a personal decision. I will never use it again. Enemas, I do every 7 days.
There are varying opinions about using an "eliminator" Some feel inserting a tube is not natural. The reason why some advocate it, is b/c as you shut down your digestive system while in fasting mode, your body is diverting it's energies and enzymes towards cleanig, cleansing, detoxifying and repairing.
All of the toxins, scum etc is drawn down to the colon to be eliminated or eventually be eliminated. Personally, when I feel like I am strugglin in fasting with heightened detox symptioms like dizziness, itching etc, I notice ease and relief from doing a enema.
Everything comes down to a personal decision.
