As we were driving in North Western Wisconsin through the town of Menomene, what shoud we find but a raw food restaurant! Raw fooders are few and far between in Wisconsin and the little town of Menomene (15,000) is not a place I ever thought to find a raw food restaurant. It is called Raw Deal and offers raw foods deli style. You can eat there or take out. We had the enchalatas, stuffed portobello, truffles, and a lemon pie dessert. It was very good.
I was told by the people working there that the owner trained with Alissa. So everyone, please send your positive thoughts of support to this pioneering endeavor. Just want to share this with all of you.

Yes, let us know ... right now I'm working on planning a trip to Chicago with some friends to visit Karyn's and Cousin's ... so a trip across the state wouldn't be too hard! :D

Nice! It's too bad it's not in Milwaukee, though. I don't think I've ever been to north-western WI, and I probably never will.

That's wonderful. You know there really are raw people everywhere. Some of them don't even know it! I bet even cooked eaters enjoy the "nuance" of trying the food at that cute-sounding little place. I know that place will thrive because it is refreshing and I bet it has wonderful vibes.

Ok -is this North Western or North Eastern Wisconsin? I travel through *Menominee* NE Wisconsin many times a year to visit my parents in Green Bay. Either way- I am thrilled to hear about this ! :)
Thanks for posting..

I live NE Wis but not quite in that area. I cannot even find organic fruit and veggies. A little but if I had to live on the organic i find I would starve to death. I wish that somone would start something like that up here.
Our local health food store carrys such a small amount that I don't even consider it a health food store.
Wish i could live in California. :D
If i ever make it up to that area will check them out.

I'm thinking of a really simple place, and maybe expand later, just to start with as minimum of $$ as possible-a few tables, carry out counter, maybe catering....I KNOW it would get business-there are no raw food restaurants anywhere around here! it would be fun.... :) and so easy-nothing to cook!!

Wish there was one in Menominee as I am living in the Milwaukee area but Raw Deal is in Menomonie, just 15 minutes west of Eau Claire- and only a little over an hour from Minneapolis, home of Ecopolitan.
